I'm glad this thread is here. I feel like I've been drinking the same 3-4 beers for 15 years now. Glad to see some recommendations. I'll definitely try a few. I doubt, however, I'll be trying anything that calls itself a beer that is served in a glass with a stem like some of these are. That tends to lead to trouble here in the south.

Unless it was in text, or I skipped it; I didn't see it. I'm also rather tired so.

This the area that i think i'm weird. All my friends love beer, different kinds, etc. I can not tell the difference between any of the beers. High cost, cheap, all tastes the same to me and i hate it so much lol. I normally have to force myself to drink 3 or 4 before i can drink it normally. Then again i'm lazy and would rather smoke a joint instead of drink a shit ton of been to get in the same place.

Those glasses are like that to keep your hand from warming the beer, just like other types are to enhance the aromatics and effecting the head.

Lot of piss on this page.

I use to have the same opinion as you, Yabby. Try less bitter beers

That's what mugs are for. And you can drink out of them without having your pinky out.....

Seriously though, I hate top heavy glasses like those. It always feels like you have a lot left as you are taking a sip, then you look down only to find out its gone. All gone.....

I know it's been mentioned a few times before, but:

Note to Canadians: It's called Rickard's White in Canada!

I love lager, and for whatever reason Molson makes me happy.

But! For true beer times, the only beer is:
    http://www.austrianbeer.co.uk/images...iderweisse.jpg

Wheat beer, brewed in my father's hometown of Kelheim, Germany. This is liquid divinity. There is no other beer but Schneider weisse.

    One of my favorite beers.

    NO NO NO NO NOOOOOOO!

A piece of fruit may NEVER touch a beer in ANY circumstance. EVER. It is a crime against humanity for it to happen. This same concept also applies to many of the "flavored" and "light" beers.

You clearly have no idea what beer is, but I will concede that blue moon is not a very great wheat beer.

I'll have to check that out. Not had many wheat beers that really did it for me

Yea blue moon and hogaardeen are my favorites too, freaking delicious

I don't consider bud, miller, etc beer at all, if I want a bottle of water I might as well get a bottle of fuji which tastes better

i don't like miller in general, but high life is fuckin disgusting. bottle or can, it's got way too much foam and it's the only alcohol that's ever made me puke. i've yet to find out if it was from the taste or the foam, and i will probably never find out because i refuse to drink it again lol.

I personally never fruit my beer, but that is in large part (I guess) because I despise wheat beer. Kinda surprised in here, most men I know do not really like wheat beers either. I don't hate on people who put limes in a Corona (I don't), but I say with confidence that a beer with blueberries in it has crossed a line.

Plenty of beers have fruity flavors in them already, but idk...blueberries floating around in there? Get out with that shit.

I don't hate on light beer drinkers either (its cheap, easy to drink, drinking games, time and place etc), but at the same time no light beer should ever be mentioned when referring to your "favorite" beer or talking about flavor.

Also, I fell in love with this beer down in Costa Rica (where it is like cheaper than water) and I've been seeing it in bars (bottle onry so far) every now and then. This stuff is so easy to drink its ridiculous, I could drink these forever. And it tastes good too, I wish I could get cheap kegs of it here in the states:

Corona tastes like piss. if you are down in Mexico and you want a beer that at least tastes decent try Sol.

If you like Ash(y) beer, heres one you might enjoy.

http://img200.imageshack.us/img200/7...ilspaleale.jpg I find the concept a little funny. The beer tastes pretty bad unfortunately.

Re: Shiner Bock - it's not swill, but it's not amazing either. It's pretty drinkable, but nothing to write home about, it's from Texas. Big whoop.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Schlafly. St. Louis is an amazing beer place, there's Budweiser of course, but there's also Schlafly. While Schlafly produces about 30,000 barrels a year (which is what Bud does in 3 hours or so?), they make some excellent beers. I liked the No. 15,

    http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2608/...f64132477a.jpg

the APA, and the Kölsch (which just won some gold medal award). The raspberry hefeweizen wasn't bad either.

Mighty Arrow is also pretty good, as is Ranger IPA, from New Belgium.

    http://beerandmicrobrews.com/mightyarrow-pa.jpg

I also love Magic Hat No. 9, and Blind Faith. Had the pleasure of touring the brewery in Vermont a few weeks ago, and there was a mix of blind faith and no. 9 they called "blind nine" that was pretty outstanding, in addition to Wacko, etc.

If you know nothing about beer, here's a basic primer:
Four ingredients (there are more in some brews but these will always be there): hops, a malted starch (barley, for example), water, yeast (fungus, and it's either top-fermenting yeast or bottom-fermenting yeast which result in ales and lagers, respectively).
