I've been drinking craft beer way too much. I can't bring myself to drink a lot of the party beers anymore. I use to drink Newcastle when I went out with friends to a non-beer bar, but nowadays I'll just order a liqueur drink instead

Shiner Bock might be tops in lolTexas, but I was annoyed that it was almost all I (along with my parents who are serious beer drinkers) could find when I was in San Antonio. It was mediocre at best, you gotta expand your horizons. I felt bad for the Texans, I guess they haven't caught up with some other areas of the US yet when it comes to beer.
Luckily you are heading to a good place in Europe. Brussels is a pretty insane beer place if you get a chance to go there. Was the greatest drinking day of my life hitting up the Delirium Bar there...they have something like 2500 different beers there. Insanity lol.
If you are heading to London like you said you might, you should definitely try some of their bitters. It is served cool/slightly less than room temp, as opposed to super cold like most typical beer is. It sounds gross, but I found them quite good in London and something kind of unique.
@Pirian - Gulden Draak definitely a solid beer. World of Beer down here has that on tap every now and then.
Anyone in Florida lucky enough to be near one should definitely check it and/or Total Wine out. WoB is expensive, but they change the taps pretty often and really introduce you to a lot of different beers from around the country and world. Total Wine is actually cheaper than most stores and they have a good selection so it is pretty much the cheapest way possible to sample some of these different beers. Shit can get expensive regardless though, especially for the imports. Don't need to drink imports to try diff kinds of beer these days though, the US has stepped up big time.
Reason I really liked living in CO (Boulder) ....good beer all over the fucking place.
Can't think of anything to add atm, but yes to Dogfish, 90 shilling, most Left Hand things, at least half of New Belgium's stuff...oh wait.
From the makers of 90 Shilling: Easy Street Wheat http://odellbrewing.com/beers/classic/easy_street
EDIT: Side note...Left Hand is in like Longmont? which is between Boulder and Fort Collins, closer to Boulder I think. If you know somewhere you can get smaller brews from CO you should be able to find it.
Total Wine will order a case if you ask them, but they don't normally have it in around here
I stand by a statement I've been making for years.
American micro brews are usually very good. American large beer manufacturers are piss poor.
My favorite beers:
Heineken
Rickards
Sleemans (any kind other than light)
Carlsburg

Delicious delicious local beer. Post more later.
Lots of good mentions in here. I've always liked Franziskaner Hefeweizen. They make a Dunkel (dark) Hefeweizen that's excellent too.

This came out last year up here. Beer is pretty good but I love the name more than anything.
Documentary my buddies and I did in college about Steam Whistle beer.

This on tap from my local Biergarten is amazing. I, also dig Blue Moon and Stella when such fancy brews are not available
This is quite possibly the most amazing singular beer creation I have ever had. It is hard as hell to find however.

God I love beer, especially IPAs. And especially double IPAs. This is my current favorite beer. Its awesome if you like really strong IPAs. Only comes in 4-packs, but trust me 4 will fuck you up.
