Limsa Lominsa
Gridania
Ul'dah

Probably Ul'dah. It seems like mostly Lalafell will be there, with Hyur and Roegadyn in Limsa Lominsa and the Elezen and Miqo'te in Gridania.
I was planning on being a Lalafell weaver in Ul'dah before they even said Ul'dah was known for that so I think that's a good sign for me to go there.
However, I kind of want to be a dust covered kitty playing in sand dunes >.>
By the looks of it, one of these cities is going to turn into a gathering point for miqo'te fetishists
The important question to ask is not which city is most like ____ from FFXI, but which starting area in XIV is most like Ronfaure.
Ronfaure starting zone/music best starting zone/music.
Which city gives me a stat ring @ level 1 for my elv D: ? I'll pick that one...
I wonder if LL would have gotten rated as low if people had more options in the alpha...
Anyway, if this poll is any indication (it isn't, but w/e), even if LL or Ul'Dah aren't the new sandy in terms of style, Gridania is definitely the new sandy in terms of popularity.
Fuck that, the theme to ron and the memories of me starting and times passing through later on (while completing higher missions) is what made the game for me. I don't think I would've enjoyed the game half as much if I started in another city. Especially Bascock.
Sandy is/was the only good city/starting zone in XI.
Pretty true. Was actually thinking that as I typed but I love my Ronny so much I continued.I'd say you would have same feelings about bastok had you started there ;o.
Gusta theme gets me all nostalgic, especially the remix.
Kinda weird that I want to start in Gridania with xiv when I loved Sandy so much and hated Windy. Guess I'm just hoping for a Forrest zone right outside the gates. Which Windy did not provide. I am going to hate seeing all the cats run around though. I know I know, I need to shut my whore mouth. Just never been a cat person.
I see you, and raise you.

Anyone stating anything about a city being better than another as a fact...
...is retarded. You'll love your starting city. Windurst was the only city and starting area I could stand, but I'd been the same had I chosen Sandy or Bastok.
Shoot I was a mithra from bastok, guess Ill be a miqote from uldah
Ul'Dah looks pretty awesome. Hopefully we'll know more about some of the guilds available in the cities before we have to choose though. Thinking of starting as a crafter this time around.
Gridania..just has the perfect setting + music for me. Plus the music for the area outside is spot on.
