P.S. Also, Eugene never said he was a medical doctor. He said he had a doctorate. PhD =/= Doctor. Also, during the scene where he's making the poison, he postures as the new Engineer. He pulled the same bullshit story on Negan that he pulled on Abraham in order to stay alive.

It didn't make sense to me either, but the director made some odd choices with camera cuts that made me explicitly think Negan was talking about Eugene. I had forgotten about the other Dr. Carson at Hilltop, though, that does make more sense. Was an odd directing choice, though. Or perhaps Negan was deliberately playing a ruse in order to confuse Eugene.

Either way, killing off one of the two medical professionals in the known world still seems careless, but certainly more in line with Negan's character that he does have a Plan B.

Yeah he meant the guy at Hilltop. Camerawork was wonky because it focused on Eugene as he said that so I can see why that would confuse people.

Judging from the lack of comments, I'll guess that I'm not the only one that thought tonight's episode was a dud.

I don't complain about slower episodes often (if ever), but did they really need a whole episode devoted to Rick & Michonne getting closer together, with a side helping of Angry Chola? The whole circus set seemed one contrivance after another to get into some absurd action scenario or forced danger; Rosita's crusade is becoming insufferable (but maybe at least it's going somewhere now), and the CGI quality in this episode reached a new low with the "deer."

With only four episodes left in the season, I can't imagine that they're going to actually get to the All Out War this season; seems like 100% of season seven is going to be setting up for AOW in season eight. Again, I'm not one to complain about a filler episode, but this is starting to feel like a filler season. Or half-season, at least.

Oof. Weak episode, TWD. Weak episode.

Yeah that episode could've been accomplished in about 15 mins. I really hate the prolonged midseason episodes sometimes.

I don't usually mind them; I usually find character development more engaging than mindless zombie killing, to be honest. For whatever reason, though (most of which I listed above), this episode didn't work for me at all.
