When they fired Darabont as showrunner I remember a conversation about a director turning in an episode with unusable footage that he had been working on at the time which had a lot of the cast and staff worried. This may have been that episode.

I thought it was the first episode considering how chopped up with commercials it was by the end.

It's actually become more of a plot device than a storyline now. The "search for sophia" is starting to cause a shift in how the characters are going to make judgements in the future.

I loved the episode tonight, Darryl pulling the bolt out of his side and shooting the zombie was pretty badass.

BUT, the scene where Darryl first sees Merle, when Darryl is on his back, did anybody else notice that in half the scenes he had dirt on his mouth, and the other half he didnt? was driving me fucking insane

I agree that tonight's episode made the best use of it, and that's probably why I liked the episode more was it finally utilized it. Tonight's episode was probably my favorite from both seasons. I just feel like it was the stepchild in the corner for so long, it's appeal has suffered because of it. It really should have been a plot device in how it was used tonight much sooner.

I thought that was a pretty good episode. The young boy and girl from Hershal's group were kind of "introduced" out of nowhere though. I'm not sure why Andrea had the rifle, haven't they been beating it into us that she doesn't know her ass from her elbow when it comes to shooting? Other than that, everything else is pretty nice. Shane and Rick having fundamental disagreements ("Wasn't she married?" lol), Andrea and Dale making up, Daryl kicking ass, Hershal getting aggravated, Glenn scouting out the barn, TDawg and Carol staying in the background, Lori being a twat. Definitely one of the better episodes.

i literally hate every character except daryl and if they do some psychological shtick to put him at odds with everyone in the group it would be a god damn mistake. Never thought I could live in a world where I dont like Dale but god damn they have made him more annoying than anything.

It's a family farm, I wonder if the zombies in the barn are those zombified family members that they didn't have the heart to put them down?

If you mean between Herschel's family and Rick's crew....that was the point. Rick's gang wasn't supposed to know about the barn. That's why if you go back and watch last episode, Rick makes mention of them moving to the barn and Herschel shuts that idea down.
