    Name transfer OB > Retail

Players will be able to transfer their character names from the FINAL FANTASY XIV Open Beta Test to the official release. As long as the Worlds selected in the open beta test and the official release are the same, the character name used in the open beta test will be usable in the official release.

If a different World is selected, the player will be unable to transfer the character name, and possibly unable to create a new character with that name.

Please note that only the character's name can be transferred. Other data such as physical levels and items cannot be transferred.

*Upon the transfer of player character name, both selection of the world and character name input need to be done properly. Please make sure to remember both the world you belonged to and the name of the character you used during the Open Beta Test.
*With the character name that has been determined to be improper by Square Enix, the transfer may not be done.
*After the open beta test has concluded, the character names still existing on the account will be transferrable.

That's currently unknown, but more than likely it's just going to be a version update patch to change it from the P3 version to the OB client. Also ffr this thread is not the place for questions/discussion, just for the actual announcements. Please adhere to that going forward.

On Aug. 30, 2010 at approximately 4:20 (PDT), a new update for the FINAL FANTASY XIV Beta Version went live. The software client will begin updating automatically the next time you run the FINAL FANTASY XIV Beta Version.

We would like to advise all testers to perform the update before the Open Beta Test commences to avoid any complications that may occur at a later time.
Along with the start of open beta test on Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2010 at 19:00 (PDT), threads under "Beta Test" and "Discussion" on FINAL FANTASY XIV Beta Test Site will become unavailable to those of you who have registered the registration code on your own to participate in FINAL FANTASY XIV Beta Test.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding.
    Manual:
    Friend List
The friend list allows players to see the login status of characters registered to that list and to send tells to them.

Select a character name from the list to send that character a tell or to delete the character from your list. Select Add to add a new character to your list.
