If a weapon has Store TP on it, will it affect TP gain for main and offhand [like something with str+ or attk+] or will it only affect the hand its equipped on [like a weapon with crit rate+ on it]
It'll work for both.
Best TP head piece for WAR? Normal mobs, no HNMs or anything crazy. I keep reading different things.
What I always heard was Turban if you're Acc is capped (Which it should be if you're not doing HNM iirc, even most merit mobs especially now with pizza), and something like askar head if you're not capped. I don't know offhand is there's something akin to Ace's now for WAR, askar was just a few extra acc.
I think turban will do it for you.
To elaborate on the Great Katana WS discussion:
Damage = WD * PDIF = ((D + fSTR + WSC) * fTP * Crit) * PDIF
WD: Base damage of your Weapon Skill
D: Base damage of your weapon (e.g., Espadon = 43)
fSTR: function of difference between your STR and target's VIT
WSC: Secondary attribute like STR 30% (30% of your STR)
fTP : TP Multiplier (See individual Weapon Skill)
PDIF: function of (your Physical ATK/target’s Physical DEF)
WSC = integer(any secondary attributes) x @
Let's say you're me, are WSing with 140 strength (no hasso up).
Let's set Pdif to 1 for ease, and let's say the mob's vit is 70.
Damage multiplier for Gekko:
100%TP 200%TP 300%TP
1.5625 1.875 2.50
Hagun Weapon rank = 75/9 = 8.333 floored to 8.
fStr = ((140 str - 70 vit)+4)/4 = 18.5
The upper cap of fSTR is ( weapon rank+8 ). So fStr = 16 capped for Hagun.
Hagun WS damage (with .1 ftp added from gorget):
Damage = ((75 + 16 + .75(140)) * 1.975 * 1 = 387.1
So let's reverse solve that to find out what Weapon base damage you need to equal Hagun's WS damage:
Where X is the base damage and Y is the new fStr based on the new weapon rank
387.1 = ((X+ Y + .75(140)) * 1.6625(lower fTp from no TP bonus) * 1
387.1 = X*1.6625 + Y*1.6625 + 174.5625
212.5375 = 1.6625(X + Y)
X + Y = 127.8421.
As stated above, upper cap on fStr is (Weapon rank + 8 ). Weapon rank = base damage / 8 floored. So let's see what weapon rank/base damage would net us 127.8421.
90 base damage = Weapon rank 11 = 19 fStr. 90+19 = 109. Not quite there.
96 base damage = Weapon rank 12 = 20 fStr. 20 + 96 = 116. Almost, but not quite.
104 base damage = Weapon rank 13 = 21 fStr. 104 + 21 = 125. Almost!
112 base damage = Weapon rank 14 = 22 fStr. 112 + 22 = 134. Beats.
So the exact base damage you need to beat Hagun in WS is: 106~107.
Which we wont see till next magian's update.
However as mentioned in previous posts: Hagun may win on WS still, but it gets destroyed in DoT now, by even the easier to get magian weapons. The high base damage OAT one blows everything away, and probably will continue to unless Empyrean/Relic get some good boost next update.
Which job would have the easiest time soloing the "Up in Arms" BCNM? I have a lot of Beastmen's Seals, and I figure "Up in Arms" would be a good place to burn through them.
Need to compare hit rate increase vs haste increase.
Haste increase is [(100 - old total haste) / (100 - new new haste)] = percent of DPS increase. So if haste is 98%, going to 99% will give 2x DPS increase from 98% haste.
For accuracy I think it's [(new hit rate) / (old hit rate)] = percent of DPS increase. So hitrate is at 20%, using the formula going from 20% to 40% gives 2x DPS than normal.
So since Askar gives +3 accuracy(4 dex = 3 acc for two handed) and 1 accuracy = 0.5% hit rate.
Use the above formulas to determine which gives more a percent DPS increase.
If your hit rate is low and your total haste is low, Askar will win. Otherwise Turban(though use the formulas above to find out when exactly in what situations).
Someone correct me if I am wrong with any of the above though as I'm not 100% sure if the above is correct.
I found it far easier to solo on blm than rdm. I found myself hurting for time on rdm, with blm the only time I was ever in danger was on my first attempt where I made lots of silly mistakes. I would definitely go blm/rdm; take some yag drinks and a pro-ether and you'll be fine barring anything silly happening.
Just coming back after a looooooooooooong break...
OAT acronym means what? (In reference to Neo's explanation)
Edit: Oh, Occassionally Attacks Twice. Der
I don't have RDM at 80 yet so I'll ask here because I'm curious:
Can anyone tell me if Composure stacks with an Accensioned Buff i.e. does it give the triple duration to all players who receive it?
Thanx for the quick replies, I should have guessed that would be the case QQ.
I posted this in the main Abyssea topic, but does anyone know what to do when you're not getting Ruby lights in abyssea? we got azure up to TEs and we can still get them with magic, pearlescent is coming with TP, but killing with WS doesn't give us anything.
Just broked or something?
is there anything else besides Marsh Murres in the Mire and Flamigoes in Sky that would be good for trial 1243? (Circle 300 times on birds)
Red chests will still have a small chance of dropping and may occasionally contain ruby lights. This was our main - in fact, our only - source of ruby light last night; we had the same problem as you. Worked well enough, drop rate increased over time and so did the quality of chest.
