nope, no email, have to log into the site. Hopefully they start sending emails before it starts or this closed beta may be a lot smaller then they originally planned.

There has been no shortage of player interest in Vindictus, the upcoming action-MMO from Nexon. And it's not hard to see why -- the game been pushing forward some interesting mechanics, on top of beautiful graphics and high-energy gameplay. The first closed beta recently came to a conclusion, but there's good news for hopefuls, as the game is starting the newest round of open beta testing on September 15th.

Although the official line is that the beta is open, the development team seems to be using the term in the sense that the game isn't closed off behind an NDA. That being said, all testers from the first round of the Vindictus beta will be granted two codes to offer any friends interested in playing, and Nexon plans to distribute codes to more outlets. With the next wave of testing just under two weeks away, players should keep their eyes open -- and maybe make a few friends with former testers.

The Vindictus Closed Beta is set to close today, August 24 2010, and we wanted to take this opportunity to thank all of our beta testers, our fans, and everyone who has taken part in the Vindictus community.

First Phase Done, Much Bigger Things to Come

We know there's a lot of people who weren't able to participate in the initial beta, but we want to stress this phase was focused entirely on working out the kinks in our server/client communications, and our hardware setup. Closed beta testers had to contend with crashes, multiple maintenances, and more, while we tested our systems out in the wild, and for that we wanted to express our gratitude.

As a show of our appreciation, all closed beta testers will receive the following:
1. Access to all future Vindictus beta phases
2. Special in-game title in Open Beta

Please keep in mind that all closed beta characters will be wiped, but your status as a tester will remain unchanged.

Next Beta Steps

With a lot of the game hardware setup accomplished, we're going to introduce the game to a much larger audience in the next phase of beta testing. This time, we're encouraging everyone to spread the word. The game is more than just doing dungeon runs, it's about trashing the place, abusing the in-game physics to its fullest, and creating social bonds. So go ahead, tell your friends about Vindictus, because next time, we’re inviting a LOT more people to join us.

We're just at the beginning of the Vindictus launch process, and there's so much more to come from here until launch, and for many more years after that, so stay tuned, and as always, we want to thank everyone who's taken part in the Vindictus community.

The next round of beta for Vindictus is right around the corner. Early Access Beta will begin on September 15 and last until October 6. This beta phase will be much, much larger than the closed beta, and there will be many more opportunities for players to participate.

Closed Beta Testers

Everyone who participated in the closed beta test is automatically entered into Early Access Beta. Closed beta testers will also receive additional beta keys by email to give out to friends and enemies alike.

Gaming Portal Giveaways

Additionally, we’ll be working closely with your favorite gaming websites to give everyone a chance to play. We’ll post the giveaways on our website, so keep an eye out for your chance.

Empowering Players

Everyone
who enters Early Access Beta is going to receive two additional keys. We want you guys to be involved in how this beta phase is shaped, so we’re empowering players to spread the word and share the game with everyone. That also means if you received a beta key from someone, and you enter the beta, you’ll also get keys to giveaway.

From Here Until Launch

Characters created during Early Access Beta and forward will not be wiped. That means the character you create here will stay with you throughout your Vindictus experience.
