Vindictus (Korean: 마비노기 영웅전, Mabinogi Heroes) is a free-to-play action-oriented massively multiplayer online role-playing game created by devCAT, an internal studio of Korean free-to-play game publisher Nexon. Vindictus is a prequel to the popular MMORPG Mabinogi and is known as Mabinogi Heroes outside of North America.

Vindictus takes place in the same setting used in Mabinogi, but is placed chronologically several hundred years prior to the first game during a period of war and strife. Nexon America, Nexon's North American division, announced the new name on March 12, 2010 at the Game Developers' Conference in San Francisco.[2]

Closed beta applications from Vindictus began on July 1, 2010 and end on July 19, 2010. See the official Vindictus website using Internet Explorer to sign up. Selected testers will be announced on July 22.

Signed up the moment it came up and waiting to see if I get it. I think of this as Demon's Souls lite(combat wise) and the looks of it.

Signed up a couple days ago, even though it said NA/Canada only. I WANT TO BELIEVE. Still wish they'd localize more of these, Korea has quite a few games that are actually, y'know, fun. But they hardly localize any of them. English C9 wru.

The duo boss fight looked pretty awesome. Love the way the characters are animated when getting hit/knocked back/knocked down. Using the mob as a meat shield was pretty great.

Vindictus fans attending this weekend's San Diego Comic Con will be happy to hear that they will be able to get their hands on a playable demo of the physics-based MMO coming soon from Nexon.

Nexon America’s appearance at Comic-Con International at the San Diego Convention Center will feature playable demonstrations of Vindictus, the first physics-based action multiplayer online action role-playing game. Nexon America will be at the Gaming University booth, #4445, with demo stations set up for the first hands-on of Vindictus offered to the public.

Vindictus has no small number of people looking in its direction with longing, on account of its detailed graphics and action-oriented approach. Potential players might get a chance at previewing the game at San Diego Comic-Con, but everyone will get the chance to take a look at the newest preview video featuring Lann, the dual-blade warrior of the game. Even within the context of the game, Lann is a high-speed character, spinning about and dispensing death with both of his weapons.

Starting in light armor, Lann will eventually get access to heavy armor as well as the potential to wield paired spears instead of swords. He specializes in mobility, able to easily sidestep several blows and move quickly to engage an enemy. Even if he doesn't get out of the way, he also possesses skills to counterattack after a knockdown and hit multiple enemies at once. Take a look past the break for the short video, and keep your eyes peeled for more reveals about Vindictus as we approach the promised release late in the year.

Not sure because nothing is happening on the site(for me) right now. Can't tell if I've been accepted or they haven't announced it yet.

Their site is horrible. I log in, click on the my account link at the top and it asks for some verification info, then takes me to a password reset. I can't get to any kind of account info page to see if my account is flagged or whatever.
