Could be, but then again my gaming PC's pretty messed up anyways (my back-up PC is working well with an ATI AIW x1900)

Still... I was hoping. Just was posting the latest news for those that were curious

I guess a 32-bit version wasn't leaked? :/ Official word is still early next week for official release. Here's to hoping it fixes the framerate issue.

You have a femi graphics card on a 32 bit system? Seems a bit overkill

bumping this a bit since official 260 beta drivers are out now.. lag seem to be fixed for the most part however no windower plugin works which seems to be common with beta drivers if i remember right :<

wasnt online that much, few things:

performance is a bit better than 460 + 250.xx drivers, however still not at the level of my old nvidia cards (9800gtx+). feels like it could be better. example, fps is around 15-20 at joachim with 5 ppl around me while turning the camera 360°.
as mentioned, no winder plugins work with beta drivers so thats a big no-no for me since i use spellcast etc.
cant move the window or else pol will crash; pol will crash also if you close a program ontop of ffxi window (tried with evga precision and msn).

will install final whql whenever they come out obviously, but for now ill have to go back to old drivers since the improvement in fps isnt worth losing spellcast.

if you start up fraps first, it lets you use windower properly with the beta drivers for some odd reason.

Version 259.32 has been reported to get 29fps under windows 7 (and windower). Windows XP users are still suffering.

tried those just now, similiar performance for me as the official beta drivers.. no clue what that guy with 29.4 fps in campaign is doing different!

I'm on XP, and saw very little improvement. I was ok at first walking out of my moghouse, but the further I ran into Windurst towards the AH, my FPS dropped back to shit. Going to upgrade to win7 this week, I guess. Been putting it off long enough now.

I've never understood why they've always sported the Nvidia logo and the "The way its meant to be played" BS slogan on all of their crap. I remember with by 8800GTX I would crash if I walked to the coin teleport NPC in WG or if I went anywhere near the bonecrafting guild.

Driver after driver update and no fix, slapped in an old ATI card and it worked just fine. I wanted the 470 for my new build but i just went 5870 for sake of ease

Leaked drivers and now the beta drivers are working just fine on my 460; I do have to start FFXI while another program is open to get Windower to work, however. It doesn't have to be Fraps, there are many different programs that'll do the trick (FFAssist2 works for me, and IE used to do the trick back when I'd had this problem before).

    Spoiler: show
Well, by 'just fine' I mean I'm no longer getting 4 FPS in Abyssea/Campaign/etc; I'm back to 15 FPS. I've pretty much given up on ever maintaining frame rate at 29 FPS in FFXI, ever.

Kicking this back up because the new beta drivers are releasing today apparently.

The link on nVidia's site is currently dead but it shows up under beta
