About Us

Neutral Impact is a gathering of friends with a passion for gaming. Our core group consists of players who have fought alongside each other in the past in various online games. We are now in a different stage of our lives, but we do not let that change our desire to win. In fact, we use that to our advantage. By emphasizing good communication and excellent teamwork, we meet our in-game goals without the sacrifice of a healthy personal life.

Our sensible raid schedule does not limit our ability to reach the top. Playing hard is important, but we also believe playing smart is greater. Many of our members are working professionals, full-time students, or new parents. We often bring our real life skills into the game to give us an extra edge. Be it expertise in math, economics, or artistic vision, we apply our out-of-game talents to every challenge. We prefer to work efficiently, taking full advantage of our community forums and Teamspeak to stay well-informed and coordinated.

We enjoy sharing good laughs on Teamspeak and goofing off in-game. But when raid time rolls around, we put on our game face, ready to kick ass. Events are strategized in advance, recorded on video, and parsed to review our own performance, always looking for room to improve. We encourage skillful play, quick thinking, and adaptability. Our players play to be the best as we accept nothing less.

The Linkshell has been pursuing end-game content since beta, adapting to the changes of the game as it has evolved. Our members have built a long-term friendship that extends beyond FFXIV. We are always looking for like-minded people with positive and colorful personalities to play with and join our small family.

Our ideal teammates come from all walks of life, but each and everyone one of them has the following qualities:

Active – You enjoy the game every day!
Someone who enjoys exploring all the game's content, be it leveling, crafting, gathering, questing, or anything else in between. Sometimes it’s about the journey, not the destination. Active players are invested in the game and the guild.

Mature – You can take a joke and dish ‘em out!
Applicants are not limited by age, but they must be intelligent, considerate, and enjoy friendly competition. A sense of humor is totally a must! We do not like drama; we’re all here to have a good time together.

Reliable – You’re responsible and can be counted on!
Our players are able to follow a schedule. They check the forums frequently, and communicate with members and leaders. We consider communication one of the most important aspects to a successful linkshell. If you signed up for a raid and can’t make it, please let your teammates know!

Skillful – You desire to play at the maximum potential.
You can do this using your past knowledge and experience of game mechanics, or by investing time to research, test new things, or practice playing your role until you can execute it with precision. You must be the kind of person who pushes the envelope in the gaming world, evolving and adapting to an ever-changing gaming environment.

Motivated – You want to get things done to better yourself and the group!

Recruitment has been very active since this posting (Thank you Sonomaa and friends for the space to advertise. It is much appreciated). A few BGers have even applied. We're welcoming three new members, and there are a handful of applications up for voting currently.

We're still looking for a few players to make the ranks stronger. I know a lot of great players lurk around these forums; don't be shy now!

Our Ventrilo is up and running smoothly now. We've also added a collaborative online whiteboard to use when discussing strategies in real-time, and for leadership meeting discussions as well. Just curious - since the game hasn't been released yet, on what basis are applicants being admitted/denied? Are applicants required to have a beta account to stand a chance of getting in?

You are not required to have beta access. We do have an application on our main page that is required to be considered (directlink). The basis for getting in should be pretty clear from the above post, and of course some of the values each member brings to the process influence votes. We post apps for 3-5 days and allow members to comment and vote.

To clarify--some applications may be pushed through much faster than 3-5 days. Sometimes it can take 48h or less. That does not mean we have not given it a thorough look-over. You may also receive an e-mail from a member asking for clarification on something in your application.

With that in mind, please ensure that your application paints the best picture of you. It is all we have to go on and the more information you provide us with, the better. The greater the detail, the longer it may take for us to debate your application, but believe me that is good. Members are using a very critical eye on applicants to ensure we build the best linkshell possible based on those we attract and those we seek in the community. In other words, send a lot more than just an application--send a résumé.

We've reached 25 great members for launch! Recruitment is tightening up as the days pass. Our application has undergone a bit of a facelift now and we're aiming to attract another ten or so. If you feel what you're looking for is what we're looking, send over an app and we'll give it a go.
