Hot Rod!
Hot Rod!
reminds me.
Tim Thomerson was awesome in the Trancers/Dollman Series.
From a Dumas perspective, terrible. But in every other way, SUPERIOR!

Gattaca is a great movie. A lot of people have seen it/liked it but I'm surprised still at how many haven't heard of it.
I want to throw out Dark City again. I know it's been mentioned but just a great movie.
Speed Racer. Everyone seemed to hate it. I love it, I never get sick of it either. The whole cast was great.
Speed Racer sucked, some terrible acting and terrible writing, but the races... holy shit. If I watched that stoned it could've been my favourite movie. But even sober, some of those races were amazing.
Not that it was just on scifi to remind me of it or anything buy how about,
Sunshine.
Yea the physics they used were loosy-goosy but it was cool.
recent movie that i liked that not many know about.
Exactly, the races made me love this movie(along with a few actually funny scenes and the fact that christina ricci is the beutiful babe in it). The final race is definitely worth watching the whole thing for.Speed Racer sucked, some terrible acting and terrible writing, but the races... holy shit. I remember reading this post on my phone and someone said fifth element was underrated. I'm ready to type a response to that now on pc.
Fifth Element is a testament to why Bruce Willis is a star and pretty much the only reason Milla Jovavich is a star... This movie is on sale at best buy this week for 3.99 and I plan to buy a fist-full of copies to give to friends on their birthdays along with w/e the hell I would actually pick out for them... nuff said about one of the best movies ever.

I really like this style of movie. Similar to fifth element and idiocracy in the way that the sets are created.
Surely nobody said Fifth Element is underrated? It was an instant classic! I don't know a single person that hasn't seen and or doesn't like it.
That said, I pick Die Hard. Its my favorite Christmas movie.
I saw John Carpenters The Thing when i was 4 or 5. Had nightmares for a week and no movie has scared me since lol. (creeped out, sure, but enter fear, no)
Not sure how underrated, but I have a hard time getting people to see The Princess Bride, but when they do they all love it. Ditto for Stardust I guess.
Agree with lots of previous listings and not going to repeat but will add The Cube, Pans Labrinth, The Last Unicorn, Across the Universe, & My Name is Nobody are several that come to mind atm.
Yeah, the Princess Bride would fall under the Fifth Element Column. Was / is extremely popular.
