Yes of course you should be wearing haste gear. You want to swap to walmart not aurore hat, and relic hands if you have them instead of aurore there too. Even with B skill and no acc traits pizza will let you use goliard body for old content at least. Wear full haste, parse your hit rate and see if you need to change food/gear from there.

Looking for some advice regarding drakesbane gearsets. I keep getting mixed opinions about gearing with STR, then other people saying DEX for crit hits. Here's what I currently use:

Some improvements I can think of are Cuchu/Nifty Mantle, Heca Hands/Feet+1 and Love Torque > Light Gorget?

Any suggestions on where to improve would be greatly appreciated.

Enemy AGI is kind of a question mark right now but it's likely a decent bit higher than Greater Colibri values. As that was one of the few situations a DRG could cap dDEX in previously, I'd generally stick to full STR now.

Light Gorget > Love Torque barring high dDEX situations.

It'd have to be a good 40 over colibri for this to be good advice. New shit = abyssea = +20 dex. This is ignoring any added dex from level or gear available, or the fact that before you didnt even need full dex to cap on birds. Maybe I'm overshooting a little, but if current mobs have +30agi, that's most definitely within reason.

Regarding SAM 5-hit builds.

Would it be better to get 20TP on WS even if you have to use slightly worse WS gear because then you wouldn't ever hit 99 TP because of Meditate?

Edit: The two pieces should came out close (Talking 1-2pts on base DMG), but I had to assume you were at 93/96 AGI. I would expect the 2% WS DMG to come out ahead if this value is higher.

I assume dual wield -5% means about 5% haste but with a TP penalty...

It is actually not a penalty in tp/sec because dnc's delay per weapon is below 180. Charis necklace is the clear tp winner for most situations. I use love for ws, which may or may not be wise.

Dunno about the second question, but for the first you only need 17% gear haste with capped magic haste and 20% JA haste. If you don't have Haste Samba for whatever reason then /DRG probably still wins.

Soooooooo... I've been out dicking around on DNC since the update. Presto on a 30 second separate timer is awesome, and I use it much more than I thought I would. In high Haste situations, it's probably still not worth using. However, my question is about merits.

So, right now I'm at 5 Saber Dance, 3 No Foot Rise, 1 Fan Dance, and sitting on 10 merits. Saber Dance is cool, but not as cool as I thought it'd be. Still, I'd like to keep at least level 1 Saber Dance to use as an awesome WS buff once every 5 minutes.

Whatever though, that's not the issue. My problem is that No Foot Rise is seeming less and less useful every day. I primarily used it when I was running between places/waiting for mobs/whatever (Reverse Flourish -> NFR -> 1 Step on the monster -> Reverse Flourish). However, now when I'm running between monsters I use Presto too, so I'd only need level 2 NFR to get 5 Finishing... Level 2? I might as well just do another Step. So I'm looking to drop these merits.

Fan Dance or Closed Position, tell me what to think!
