There's an answer on this page. Good luck.

It's possible that SE just wants to test changes they have made to the account system. Trying to sign up for the open beta from an account that already has been in the beta might result in a service renewal or reactivation while accounts without the canceled beta access might be a new account service key (and possibly limited quantities), which would be why they urged people to register the contest keys to get the service on their account to guarantee access.

Fair enough. I'll try again tomorrow or something. At least everything is patched up and waiting.

I have the client installer, but it is unable to check for version updates. This has happened since yesterday, all related?

You mean registered back in alpha? What code? Where to register? Where's the link? I never received an email from them up until this morning.

The website says a lot about registering in many places, but says nothing about "here's a link - go here to register".

Along with the postponement of FINAL FANTASY XIV Open Beta Test, the issuing of registration code for FINAL FANTASY XIV Open Beta Test will be postponed as well.

Right, but was the option to register ever opened at any point? That's my thing: I never received an email stating that it was initially open, so I'm not sure what Sono is talking about with the "you're fucked", unless he's talking strictly about the newest people to receive beta keys, like the ones he gave out.

Some people got beta keys when SE handed them out earlier this month.

    Yup, he's talking about them.

    http://entry.ffxiv.com/

    Hinweis:

From my understanding this E-mail says that if you login to http://entry.ffxiv.com with your Closed Beta/or any other SE ID you can order a OpenBeta Key. That Key will than be send to your e-mail from where you register it back in your SE account.
Apperently everyone has to do this no matter if you ever participated in Alpha/Beta or not. I know ppl who never touched the FFXIV beta and still got this email because they own a SE account.

I will be (most likely) given more newtype beta codes to hand out to people once the open beta eventually fills up etc.

I am currently asking for a complete server name list
Do we still use the ffxiventry.com site to upgrade our codes, or is that done at the Account Management System site?

Account Management from the looks of it, they upgraded the layout on it a bit and it has a spot where you can go to register XIV stuff now.
