Ohh, okay. I see what's going on.. H2010.08.04.2000 is the one it's going on right now. I didn't even notice there was a date in there until I read your post. Funny how an installer is not up to date?

8.31.2000 popped, just finished it. Wasn't there this morning and didn't see it posted.
Was it any shorter of a download than the previous versions?
Ugh..... now I gotta wait 1 more day to meet my waifu
Their servers are obviously bogged to hell and back, but the new 8.31.2000 download isn't very big~ Just so you know.
Really sucky download, torrent shit doesn't work for me, always 0 seeders. So I use the main one and its at 11% after 4 hours ;/ joy.
I just updated my drivers on the video card. They are now the 256 ones from Nvidia. no dice.
Let me boot my computer up into Safemode with Networking to see if it starts.
well from my little experience id say the prepackaged drivers for your card ought to work for the time being.
but hey I'm not exactly tech-savvy. i just kinda stare at it, reboot, smash keyboard, and hope for success.
in Safemode the FFXIV client crashed. I booted to native, uninstalled the driver, and FFXIV client crashed... this is interesting.

Oh that FFXI update screenshot has me flashing back. POL had some really good tunes... I should reinstall it just to hear them.
lol @ IGNs article about the OB. Hate to admit it, but there is truth to it

I realize this is hard for someone who works for a gaming publication to understand, but most games don't have a marketing "beta" and even amongst those who do, most people who end up buying the game don't get to be in it. Expecting the average reader to sympathize with his ridiculous feelings of entitlement to play a game before release date makes him sound like a 5-year-old, and griping about how long it is when it's completely open is just bitching for the sake of having something dramatic to write about.
