What did you like about the beta

Well since the beta is coming to a close, and all we got right now is FFXIV sucks blah blah, I wanna know, What did you like about the beta. Or about the game right now.

    -Good graphics,
    -Some Voice acting is fun.
-I Like the combat more then in Phase 3
-I like the fact that you can play solo or in party and it won't slow you down much.
-Even though alot of people bitched about it I kinda like the Leavesystem.

-Storyline seems pretty powerful just like in any other FF series.

    But what about you

I was afraid it would be too close to XI design wise, but those fears have disappeared.

I also love the potential with most features in-game with few exceptions. Can't wait to play once they're refined and working as intended.

It's just sad that I need to wait longer.

I liked how I always had something to do, and was always switching classes, levelling for other abilities, etc.

    What I liked:
    - The Disciplines of the Land jobs
    - the scenery
    - mining

What I didn't like, and hope will be changed:
    - The bazaar system is crap and almost impossible to find equipment
    - combat was okay...though I became really frustrated with the way skill ups and exp seemed super random
    - crafting too random... one minute I can absolutely rock a synth, the next, I fail miserably (even if I am well above the required level)
    - I REALLY hope the game is a bit more optimized than it was in beta. I have a pretty awesome computer and the cities ran like pure shit

I have high hopes and assuming that the beta was an "older" build, I am sure a lot of the lag issues will be fixed. Either way, I preordered the game =)

I've liked pretty much every class I've tried so far, both DoW and DoM classes seem fun in their own way and there's more variation in them than some people seem to think.

I like the combat system, for me it's all new and something I haven't come across in any other game.

The main questlines of all the cities have been interesting and fun, haven't got bored once doing those, but sort of wanting to do more and more in stead.

Even though I personally like party play a bit more than soloing, it's nice to have the option for occasional solo grind as well.

Disciples of the Land are a nice fresh thing to make gathering classes more fun, when you're not in the mood for combat you can just go out to find ores/wood/weed(lol) and still get some use of it to your combat classes as well (phys. level).

Guildleves are a nice addition to our exping options as well as a nice income with the addition of equipment rewards, no complaints about those.

The graphics are great, no denying that. The world is pretty damn beautiful with all its sceneries too and I had good moments just taking long exploring trips in it.

The soundtrack of the game is just.. amazing. Uematsu really knows this shit.

    Hair physics! <3
The acting and dialogue in the cutscenes as well as from many of the NPCs.
Combat is pretty fun once you've got a few cross class abilities going on.
    Killing marmots. ALL the marmots.

    story
amazing weather graphics (most notably thunder storm on boat ride)
    mob markers on mini map
80 inventory spaces at start (though items with +1 and +2 may make me change my mind down the line)
    did i mention the storyline?

I like how it shows the game has potential.

The groundwork is there for an epic game, it just needs time to ripen.

I like how simply chopping the tails off every galka in existence has made a much cooler-looking race.
    I like the Gathering systems.
I like the silly Gridania opening cutscenes, and the smooth-talking bard in Ul'dah.
I like the female pirates in their hotpants in the second Limsa mission.
I like the potential of the armory system (great katanas next plz!).
I like many of the game's musical tracks.
I like the weather system and how the new sandstorm doesn't rape my FPS, unlike FFXI's which somehow still does.
I like a lot of the groundwork that has been laid.

Nothing, really. Maybe the nice looking character models, that's about it.

Though I didn't play that much past phase 2, I liked....

    the music
    the graphics
the added touch of voice acting (the VA's seem to fit with the "high fantasy" feel of the game)
    the storyline
    the minimap and enemy markers
the guildleve system and how it directs you toward the specific targets for a given leve
    Ul'dah
the fact you can efficiently solo right off the bat

I liked the npc replies. The shit they say in this game makes my jaw drop sometimes.

I hope theres more Voice overs gives more "life" to the characters.
Massive Worlds that i want to explore, Last night me and CeeJay went and explored since we knew it was our last night playing.
Huge mobs. The Molboro we saw North of Grid was fucking massive cant wait to see wyrms and the behemoths
Crafting ~ Mini game was fun logging/mining mini games also.
Like that you never run outa stuff to do theres always something. Honestly i had no problem with Leve quests being 48 hours. Shared leves with the same 4 people when ever we got done it always seemed like "okay leves reset in an hour!"
Graphics x100 cant give them enough praise. I really hope the Airships hover low enough to watch the terrain change and that will be a sigh to see.

Honestly? Nothing. Comparing the feel I had when I first started playing XI and now playing XIV, theres just no fun in this game. Maybe retail will be so much different/better it will change my mind.

Aside from music and visuals of course.

Love the Armor Designs, and attention to detail.. You can see the fucking NAILS on the WOODGRAIN of the handsaw grips..

LOVE LOVE LOVE the Crafting System. Very Complex, HQ is in your control, no more random moon% BS.

Clothes Dye.. I found Paint for wood, Dye for Cloth, Metal Dye, Leather Dyes etc.. Lots of customization gear wise.

Craft Leves are dope, free skillups!

Music is ON POINT. Job well done.

Did I mention attention to detail? christ. Lots of potential here.

For me most of the stuff was as expected, except for the NPC dialogue. Was definitely a pleasant surprise, particularly in Uldah. Good humor in the writing for the english audience.. wasn't as humdrum as XI was.
