Friend of mine is a Calgary fan here as well. We've both agreed seeing Vancouver vs Calgary for the Western Conference would be epic. Also we'd probably end up fighting each other.

Yeah I am, lol. Moved here in August. And I work at a restaurant that plays every Canucks game, has a ton of regulars that come out for those games and is employed by nothing but Canucks fans. So much enjoyment coming in in my Flames jersey when we play each other.

But yeah, I 100% agree, Flames vs Nucks west final would be amazing to watch

Dallas blows a 2-0 lead with 5 minutes left, allowing a goal by Klesla then a goal by Whitney with 30 seconds left when Bryz was on the bench. With 13 seconds left Ribeiro gets hooked and embellishes it to get the call. Morrow ties up the puck in the corner, Ribs takes it out and hits Eriksson with a no look pass, who after fanning on it passes it perfectly to a streaking Jamie Benn from the point, who buries it with 4 seconds left in the game.

NO LOSER POINT FOR YOU YOTES. FUCK YOU.

Benn and Burish. That's the key. We lost Burish and Benn and we went to hell. Benn is our heart and soul, he's dominated every shift he's taken since he's gotten back. Burish is our motivation in the lockerrom. He get the guys to believe in themselves.

Richards will be back on Friday against the Ducks. Three game win streak without Grossman and Richards. If we can go 3-1 on this Western road trip, we go back home for a 7 game stretch in Dallas.

Went to Caps/Isles last night. Was another typical Washington game for 59 minutes; plenty of shots, only a few quality chances, fewer still follow-up chances, 0-for on the PP. And then Brooks Laich does something inspired when you want to score a goal, he goes to the fucking net. And thank goodness he did tie it up, because we were all treated to a vintage Oviegoal in OT.

All three new Caps suited up for the game, and they all looked like they're ready to contribute. Arnott was especially good centering Laich and Semin, and Wideman led the team in ice time. BB still needs to tinker with the lines and pairings, especially with Sturm, who played pretty well with Ovie and Backstrom before being banished to the third line when he moved Knuble back up. The last 48 hours have been pretty exciting. After relegating myself into thinking the Caps were primed for another early playoff exit, I'm starting to drink the Kool-Aid again. Damn you, GMGM. You maniacs! God damn you all to hell!

French media was overly critical of the habs game, as usual. "they barely scraped by a team thats well below them in the standings"...Price was about 6 minutes away from another shutout but a miscue from Sopel caused a giveaway. Its probably still a lack of chemistry with the team, not used to the breakout plays etc etc, but it didnt seem like a bad game by any means. Price was solid, the team was solid...

What you don<t get is that Price got like 45 shots which isisn't good

They had problems getting shots against a team that lost most of they good players (IIRC they only have byufulgien SP) left.

Habs got lucky because this game should've been overtimed or lost by habs imo.

Shot counts dont entirely matter...if they get 40 shots, and 15 come from the point unscreened right in the bread basket, 5 come from dump ins at the net, 8 come from 2 goalmouth scrums where they whacked away at it hoping for a lucky bounce but really never had a chance cause the pads were stacked and there was no room to get over em, it still counts as 28 shots, but none were quality that ever had a chance.

MTL was shorthanded 6 times (tho they werent all for 2 min each), let 7 shots, and 0 goals.

They need to start tracking scoring chances, they keep bringing this stat up midgame "so and so has had X scoring chances", how come the fans cant see where this stat comes from?

Was surprised it took this long for someone to bring up "well you can score from the other end of the ice"...but to that, I rebutt with this:


Yes, I'm aware that shots on goal can lead to rebounds, which can lead to Toskalaing, which can lead to penalties, and theres never a bad shot on goal, but basing something entirely on "they fired 40 shots" can be misleading.

I dont get why special teams goals/shots count towards a goalie's sv%, its annuled from a players +/-, why cant goaltenders get that luxury?
