you are all the ey candy i need kuya
Kinda sucks if the gimmick really is don't look into the light.
Cloverfield had some cool alien design ideas but failed on the ass kicking front, and I don't see Milo rallying the military for some ID4v2 crackdown.
Heard this movie looks cheesier than it's being portrayed in the trailers.
anyone ?

It is currently sitting at 29% on RT.. Planning on going later with the wife to see it. Just gonna go in like it's a Michael Bay movie and hope it's fun...
....I can't even comment on the absurdity of that sentenceIt is currently sitting at 29% on RT.. Planning on going later with the wife to see it. Just gonna go in like it's a Michael Bay movie and hope it's fun...
I heard it was directed by the guys that did AVP2, therefore I will not see it.
You can tell a movie is bad when their own Studio hasn't really promoted it.
Looks like a good, cheap (story wise but very expensive production-wise) sci-fi action movie to me. The character development will no doubt leave me laughing when a main character dies rather than care in any way, but the "alien invasion" premise will no doubt be entertaining enough for a very good single-watch flick.
lol, well I mean I'm going in not expecting an oscar winning plot. More or less a CG filled, explosion fest..
Just got back from it though, it had a few decent scenes. Overall, was pretty disappointed though.
Spoiler: show
Forgot to mention, awesome design on the spaceships and aliens. Worth mentioning.
saw it over weekend. good special effects/cgi. story meh, acting ok. has possibilities for a sequel but overall meh. I give it 2.5 outta 5. I wouldn't pay full price.
While driving home, listened to I believe Loveline with Dr Drew few days ago with Eric Balfour as guest. He said a few interesting things about how the movie came about.
While I'm not expecting anything amazing/oscar winning kind of acting/story, they produced this movie without any studios backing them up. It was basically 5 guys who used their own money and made a movie with no creative restrictions from big name studios. So they made this movie for the love of making a movie and not, for the most part trying to make it for pure profit. I respect them in this aspect.
It was basically an independent film that made the big screen.
Googled up some info: http://www.kansascity.com/2010/11/11...try-their.html
I haven't seen the movie yet, but from special effects standpoint off trailers, it looks awesome.
Very interesting read. It is easy to tell where they need work with their directorial skills, but the effects were really good. Hopefully they will get better with time. Props to them for getting the film on the big screen.
Honestly one of the worst movies I've ever seen. I actually laughed out loud during some scenes that were meant to be scarey/dramatic. Most of it made absolutely no sense at all, the ending was ridiculous, and I hated every single character. Too many scenes had absolutely no point in the movie too. Pretty CGI, but I really wouldn't recomend it to anyone at all.
If it makes 20M this weekend it'll be a big success, their budget was around 10M.
Is this one of those films that's bad in a good way and therefore still enjoyable, or is it just plain bad?
