    PSP Help

Anyone have vast knowledge on the slim PSP? A few months back I was going to trade/sell my older version with CFW for a Slim but ended up ducking out because I didn't really know much about it. Now that the pretty blue PSP is out and that nice red Kratos package, I am really considering it. Fucked up thing is I don't know a thing about emulators or running PS1 games, my friend did all of that for me and he moved, pretty much disappeared since then.

If anyone has the time or is nice enough to help, reply or send me an I/M. I tried google but ended up confused as shit. From what I gathered apparently Datel has a battery that downgrades your firmware, whether or not it will work on the latest PSP models that I want I can't find.

I know some of the newer PSPs have been modified so that the pandora (aka datel or a few other names, they all do the same thing) batteries do not work on them. Most PSPs can still be downgraded, but it does take a bit of work. You can either buy a datel battery, a pandora battery that someone has made, or you can hard-mod or soft-mod one yourself. From there it's a matter of getting the custom firmware installed.

www.psp-hacks.com is by far the best resource on doing these things. I recommend hard modding a battery yourself, I've done it multiple times and it's really not as difficult as it seems. It beats paying 50 bucks on ebay for one.

Pandoras work on all current PSPs (Sony will be releasing a new model soon that requires a new battery type), but newer slim models cannot MAKE a Pandora battery. However, you can always hard mod a battery, though this requires you to buy a 2nd battery unless you're really good at soldering.

And what Cephius said, psp-hacks can answer all PSP questions you have.

But please, for the love of god, do not do nothing but pirate games for it. I only have mine modded so I can play my PS1 games on it. The PSP market suffers heavily from piracy, and it really hurts developers desire to release new games for it.

Datel tool or an official stamina battery pack 3.6v 2200mAh. Remember if you hardmod the latter you won't be able to use it as a battery unless you solder it back or use it for cfw 1.50 w/ tm.

For some emulators you need to install time machine, the ps1 are just eboots. Good luck!

The Red Kratos PSP in the package works with a pandora's.

It's also incredibly easy to do, you'll be fine.

The only thing that took me forever to figure out was getting a ps1 game to work on my PSP without the disks, I.E. torrent the disks files but it took a while to get the right ones. Once I got the right ones, it was a breeze, and all nes/snes games were real easy to get on.

I used my old fat original PSP and it's battery to make the pandora/magic stick, then tossed them on the red one with no probs.

1 thing to mention, the red kratos psp is discontinued, so stores wont be getting anymore in stock.
