Hacking Recovery Timeframe

My friend was hacked the other day and she lost everything ofc, so she called SE, gave them the info they wanted and the recovery is in process.

I've known a few people that got hacked and it's been a varying timeframe on how long it takes~, I was just wondering, because I look forward to playing with her again, what's the fastest anyone's had their account restored? Days? A week? A few weeks?

Mine took a hair under a month.

Took me about 3 days short of a month. The longest process was them "investigating" the situation. They also said they'd send an e-mail once my recovery was done. They never did. I just had to keep checking to see if my account was unlocked 2x a day.

Generally around a month but some cases took as short as 2 weeks.

as short as 1 week, as long as 6+ months, average seems to be a month

Took me 3 and a half weeks, btw why are these hacks still happening? Did the rmt redefine their methods or still exploiting certain ffxi sites and ppl are without firefox + noscript?

Also, people lose their accounts to hacks because of the normal silly crap. Same my dad's co-worker lost his level70 Paladin when he was looking for PL services.

Update Flash, Firefox, AdBlocker, and No Script. Plus a few other things and you'll be fine.

that authenticator is made of win...why didn't SE do this earlier and infact they need to release this type of security asap. So pretty much for hackers to get ur account info now they have to physically break into your house and steal that authenticator? lol
