Did anyone catch this last night? One Way Out is a new show on the Discovery Channel where escapologist Jonathan Goodwin tries to get out of stupid to life threatening situations. In the first two episodes he tries to escape from a box full of angry bees and then tries to escape from being submerged a huge chamber of ice-cold water.

Maybe it is just the pervert in me who wants to tie him up for other, much more lude scenarios, but I was fairly entertained.

Haven't seen the show, I don't watch TV much, but sounds kinda.. interesting. Although any spare time I have I imagine I'll be spending trying to catch up on Lost o.o

I think once people realize that Man vs Wild and Survivor man are mainly used as a "now you know" manual for being lost or stranded the better. Most people flame and call BS on those shows etc... forgetting the fact that even in the military when you are training you are in a controlled environment.

Navy Seals? Bad motherfuckers right? Train in a swimming pool and on a beach on the NC coast. Distress simulation and distress management are much different from real time, it doesn't make the Seals any less bad ass. Same for these shows, I don't really watch either but I am just saying, people have an insatiable need to feed their blood lust, these shows are mainly to show you how to stay cool, composed and more importantly to stay alive as opposed to the norm which is to freak out, cry, grieve, get down on yourself and smash your head in with a rock because you're hungry after being lost for 15 hours.

You'd be surprised how little survival instinct most people have. Take a bitch camping, you'll understand.

I was excited about the show at first. The Bee Episode sucked ass. The next one where he was under the ice was a bit more promising though.

While I don't really care much for reality shows, I do have to admit that the one-take commercial for this show (where he starts by leaping out of the flaming pool onto a matress) is pretty awesome.

I thought the show was entertaining. It was funny when they were doing research for the ice box escape and him and his friend were sitting in ice barrels in the freezer at the ice factory.

The Commercial got me pumped for the show as well. Then the bee episode kinda let me down.

The ice episode was pretty cool though.

Eh, it seemed less of an 'informative' show and dangerously close to reality TV for my tastes, especially on Discovery. When I first turned it on, I thought it was a documentary on bees, and was quickly disappointed when it turned into two idiots spinning a wheel to see who would get stung where. Kinda lame in my opinion.
