Wildfire WS: STR vs. AGI, AGI vs. MAB & how magic crits play a role.

Alright, so first of all I did a search and the only thread that came up for "wildfire" was uninformative . . . so ya.

Things I'm already aware of:

-Fire based elemental dmg.
-60% AGI modifier
-MAB increases dmg.
-WS not affected by gun or bullet dmg.


My three question are:

1. Does strength affect this WS in any way? Specifically, will I get more dmg out of a STR+6 ring or an AGI+6 ring?

2. In abyssea, I think the sure thing with this WS would be Smoldering Sky(fire dmg +30). But for the second atma, would I get more damage from Gnarled Horn(AGI+40) or Heavens(MAB +10)?

3. Does anyone know if this WS crits? Does it work off my critical hit rate or magic crit hit rate? I ask this question specifically because I don't know whether to continue using my Axe Grip(STR+3) or change it up to a Wise Strap(Magic Critical Hit Rate +3%). Another alternative would be using a Reaver Grip +1(AGI+2) if both magic crit and STR don't hold much weight with the WS.

I'm aware that I could just go out and test these things myself, but if someone else already knows, why go through the trouble? So here I am asking ^^. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

No, Weaponskills that can critical hit always say "Critical hit varies with TP.", WS's without that or ("Deals critical damage") cannot critical without help from JA (SA/TA/Mighty Strikes).

2) If you have the gun, test yourself. it wouldn't be difficult to determine if you do more damage with a STR+6 ring or an AGI+6 ring.

Lastly, I don't think very much is known of the WS yet, and trust me when i say my response to this, though seemingly rude, is the nicest you'll get =\

Don't have Wildfire, and don't care, but assuming it is a magical weapon skill, dmg is calculated as:

Damage = (( Lv+2+WSC ) * fTP + fINT ) * Resist * Elemental Staves * Weather * MDIF * Magic Damage Adjustment

So since Str isn't a modifier, it should not affect dmg in any way.

Also note, GH is +50 AGI, not +40. It's actually Superior and mislabeled.

Smoldering Sky is +40% damage (according to JP wiki) and should be superior to any amount of MAB you can get on an atma. Baying Moon/Beyond would be better than Heavens.

I do have the gun complete and I'm not stupid at all. I obviously don't know much about elemental weaponskills, or in-depth weaponskill calculation so I thought I'd ask some people who did. Don't be such a fag. Thanks for the complete lack of any information you provided me with, besides confirming what my friend said when he said all I would get was responses from loser faggots on this website.

In the defense of this community, Any idiot who's played the game for more than a month should be able to tell you Weaponskills that do not expressly say "Critical Hit varies with TP" or "deals Critical damage" do not critical hit, this is especially true for any Elemental weaponskill.

Secondly, you're questions are all incredibly easy to test yourself if you have the gun, it would literally take you ~10 minutes to find all of these answers yourself. I don't mean 10 minutes each, i mean literally 10 minutes to answer every one of your own questions.

That and calling the entire forum fags and still expecting candy responses is plain humorous.

Truthfully, this community is only mean to people who have weapons and armor that take extraordinary effort or time from multiple people to help only you and have apparently made no effort to research or test the simplest of things that come with the weapon, and expect a community full of "Fags" to spoon feed you the answer.

On an unrelated note, it's amazing how stupid some of the above posters are (Watch this hit next page). He said ". . . responses from loser faggots on this website." For those of you who don't speak English as a primary language, I excuse you. For the rest of you that misinterpreted this statement, you need to get the fuck off BG and go back to school. This clause does not state that everyone on BG is a fag, it only states that out of all members on the website, only fags would respond to his post. It's a proportional statement rather than a universal one.
