    UI Setups

Thought I'd make a thread about this for everyone say how they setup their UIs in Aion. I feel like I don't have enough room for everything I want to put on my screen, even though my aion is put at the max resolution the game can go.

On mine you can see I put the regular chat (whisper, legion, party) on the bottom left, and the combat is right above that. I stuck the pvp radar up near the minimap and the region chat on the bottom right. It sucks though because mouse over window covers the region chat things and i have no idea where else to stick that. I also can't figure out where to stick all the alliance party windows :< Not enough room I tell ya!

Your screen seems super busy, how do you not become crossed eye? So many chat windows. I've left my UI on default so far until some custom UI mods come along...

Really I don't pay attention to alot of it. I decided to get rid of the seperate channel chat window and stuck it as a tab in the main chat window. The red text on the top right is not there the whole time and only appears if elyos are around doing action. I still have no idea how im gonna squeeze 4 party windows on my screen though

How do i go about seperating the chat window and moving each part like you have on yours?

Oh wow I am stupid. I never realized there was a UI scale. Syntex poined it out to me on vent.. <_< That helped a ton. /idiotoff

Still curious how other people have set up their windows and such though

If you hover over your chat window, it will bring up the tabs. You can right click the tab and an option to create new tabs and you can also click on tab options to decide what you want to show in your that specific one. From there, you can click and drag on the additional tabs and it pop off the main one and create a separate window. You can just drag it wherever you want.

i kinda have the same problem. i run aion on 1920x1200 on a 24". while the whole space seems to be awesome on first sight, it's rather annoying for all the different text windows as i won't be focused on my char if i look at the chat window on the left (as example). to get a bit more space, i adjusted the UI scale to 0.85 and i also use the ui top style, like falisa. i created a new chat tab which includes /legion /party and general chat stuff except all the region, trade etc. channels. additionally, i played a bit with the combat window settings and put it above the quick access bar / below the char in the middle. a bit like ffxi but only combat related info. that's a lot better than to set battle stuff on the left/right but still not perfect as the window has to be rather small (4-5 lines) to not overlay the char.

i did some experments with putting windows on top middle to right ish (like falisa did with the pvp), as there is lot of open space. still, due to my big screen i can't focus much on it during battle, which rules out any relevant info to be shown there.

I didn't know you could do that. Assassin has my shit all clustered with beige and yellow numbers and I can't see chat for shit. Thanks for the tip.

I use the same hud top setup, scaled to about 0.88. I put a chat box in the lower right corner for whispers and made it as small as possible (still covers quest entry pop ups when you list is full but only for long quests). I put the pvp box just under where the triggered skills pop up and a little to the right so it doesn't cover up the craft/gather pop up. I moved the main chat box down and widened it, then put a legion/party box above it thats a little smaller.

yep, even if aion crashs which happens to me every now and then in eltnen. made some further adjustments to the ui yesterday, then went to finish a quest just to experience another crash. after relog, all my windows and font colors etc. were still the same as they were before the crash <3

improvements to my setup: scaled the ui further down to 0.82 and changed the chat font to big. created a new combat window which only shows mine and the targets buffs + wearing enfeebles and status messages. put that above the quickbar. also created the pvp radar, which shows all combat - enemy related messages in bright red in a window located left to the top radar.

you're right...what i meant was the health bar of your party/ally...i guess, the reason for my earlier post was that i keep having to move the health bars even when i get my chat boxes in the right place

hmmm....unless....the health bars can be set in the same place you left them as well? D:

edit: nvm, i guess i could decrease the size of the UI...which was the point of this thread....ahhhhhhhhhh brb breakin' deez cuffs

Starting to think I'm the only one who prefers the bottom-UI setup.

I only have 2 chat windows: one for PvP and one with chat/group/ally/legion/alert/system. Combat is in another tab and isn't really important enough that I need to see it 24/7.

How are you guys removing the character portraits/mini-maps from the quick bar at the bottom?
