Problems with vista + ffxi (again)

Well, I finally got a new PC today, I try to install FFXI and find out I need the vista compatable POL from Playonline.com, well, I downloaded it but now when I try to install ffxi it says POL is not installed even though it is, has anymore had the same problem and/or know how to fix it?

I tried to install FFXI with my regular POL too, but it doesn't run either.

From one problem to another >< I have FFXI loaded up now, looks pretty nice. Finally got to to work in windower but every time I minimize it it gives me the error Playonline has closed and kicks me from the game. Is there any fix out there to stop this happening? Not much point in windower without being able to do things online between windows and camps and I can't stand SE windower.

Instead of just double clicking the windower icon, right click it and select the option that says "Run as Admin" it should fix the error of PoL crashing like you said.
