Buying a used Xbox360, some questions.

A colleague at work is selling his Xbox 360 for quite cheap to me with 3 games. I'm considering it as I always wanted to play a couple of games that were Xbox only (Guilty Gear Overture comes to mind, and maybe Forza Motorsports)

1. Anything I should look out for? This guy basically brought it when it came out and not really used it, his life style and work just doesn't support playing games, so I doubt it has more than 100 hours of use, or even 50
2. Is the hardware tied to something unique on the Microsoft side? Or can it be reformatted/etc, to set it up as a new owner?

I'm guessing I need to create some sort of id/account on the Xbox side (like PSN), but aside from that, it should be straight forward right? Never owned any Xbox before, so I'm just being cautious.

I can't speak for online yet, but I bought one used for 100$ and it works fine.

I'm not sure if it is true for the 360, but I believe the original Xbox was tied online to a unique machine. Meaning that if the previous owner was banned from Live, that particular Xbox could never go online again without modding. Something to be cautious of when buying used.

Yes, a console can be banned.

Thanks all. Yeh the guy selling it to me probably won't have used live on second thought. No way he's got time for that either. Should be good then.
