Hello! Let’s all tread together the treacherous path of the final day of the work week joined by some great music!

Let's forget for a moment that Arkham Knight had so many issues on PC it had to be pulled from Steam for a while until some kinks were worked on. Let's also forget that the Arkham series are amazing games, true gems that changed the way some people see games with comic book licenses. No, we're going way back today. To the NES days.

Today I share the theme for the first level (or "stage 1") in Sunsoft's BATMAN game for the Nintendo Entertainment System. That was a fun game! The music isn't precisely "Batman-y" but it was catchy; the gameplay was pretty neat and had some tough platforming sections, making the game a good challenge!

I am playing through Arkham City these days, and I am having a blast. Love the open world setting, compared to Asylum. Man, that was a great game. I'm looking forward to playing Knight! I say all these as someone who obviously knows about the Batman but am far from a "fan" of the caped crusader.

Game on!

One of the best NES OSTs out there. If you want a real kick (and you probably already know this, check out stage 4's percussion. That is some of the most absurdly involved drumwork I've ever heard in a game, much less one that came out back then. Just as I can imagine a real life drummer bathed in sweat after finishing that song, so too can I imagine the sound programmer furiously going crazy on the keys to make that song.
