Situational, not many people have relic+mythic SAMs both taking advantage of 1 less hit in their X-hit for their party. WAR+DRK or DRK+RNG are far more common rolls, or in merits DRK+COR.

The thing about Ridill is that, despite it's applications as Thorny and I have already discussed, sometimes the optimization is in fact to not use the Ridill. The group there was there for Royal Ramble, same as us, assume average to slightly above average players (dictated by him using askar hands / head and having haub +1 in bazaar) you're using a Ridill on mobs that have 3 TP moves:

1 wipes shadows
1 goes through shadows and does 300 damage and dispel
1 does 3 hits and does upwards of 700-900 damage if you have 1 or no shadows.

In a perfect world? Sure it's no problem. This is the EXACT application I had described in our previous argument though about how advocating Ridill usage just because you or I can make use of it isn't the responsible choice. The RDM who was with them I can personally attest to the fact that they were subpar in reaction time and decision making skills - combine the Ridill with shitty support and you have the party exiting the KS30 with 4 out of 6 members dead.

I called them confused, and I stand by it. Sometimes Gaxe /NIN is worth it when compared to the alternative despite doing slightly less damage. In the hands of your AVERAGE player in AVERAGE situations though Ridill often causes more harm than good.

I think sometimes people forget that for all the idiots on the forums, the majority of us here fall into a level of experience and performance that the people we screenshot will never, ever, ever reach even if the game continues for another decade. Applying the same rules to them that we do to ourselves is nonsensical and irresponsible. You don't put little league players in the major leagues and tell them to play catcher behind a pro pitcher, they're gonna get their face broken in half.

I would take this post, and toss it out, but not on the grounds of it being wrong. The general idea is still stands true: An idiot with a Ridill would be better off using a Gaxe. Be it for reasons of said idiot not being able to cope with TP moves, or for the reason I personally would consider it bad, is that this idiot probably doesn't have the gear to use it effectively, and would probably be better off using their stupid gear and an A+ weapon, such as the WAR you posted.

Well in merits the WARs shouldn't be /NIN so that's moot. Pizza and a better secondary roll (one that would increase WS frequency) would invalidate hunter's in MOST situations I'd assume, and I could see WAR + DRK but in this day and age how many people are in situations where they have a WAR + DRK but not a SAM? What would the average roll need to be for Hagun to drop to 5hit? I know it's gotta be less than lucky, something like 75% of rolls, close to 90% once the ability to snake-eye is factored in?

I'm not saying it's going to work for everyone but it's along the same line, imo, of saying that when /nin Ridill is always the better choice. I think a lot of people here, not so much the average joes, are going to have access to more versatile and flexible setups and may get more mileage out of their Gaxe over Ridill if situated correctly. I mean, if you're already geared well enough that you're coming WAR to dynamis over a mage I'd assume you'd have the possible utility to make the most out of the COR you should be getting.

To double-post, I forgot to mention: The reason I scream "BUT RIDILL IS AWESOME" at people all the time is not to give them the idea it's simply the best for them, but to remind the idiots of the world that Ridill does not suck just because someone has led them to believe this. (Aka: You will never get this, in my best Borat impression)

I don't have pics here at work, but the past 3 days have led to me now putting 'No DRG Burns' in my seacom. I've gotten at least 3 SH/Tarasque Mitts/NQ Amemet DRGs, another who thinks he's top shit because he has Zahak's yet TPs in literally 0% Haste and keeps saying Minuet is better than March because 'they already kill quickly'.

I have a parse saved from the other day of a DRGx4 COR(me) BRD party in which I was the top DD, one DRG was close and the rest were at least 7% behind me...

I was finishing off some NQ Crap Sushi so it doesn't hog up my satchel space, and used polearm a little bit at the end to make use of minuet
