I looked and might have missed it, but is there a post or link that can tell me about the exact points where Tuchulcha will pop instead of other hunters?. Read somewhere around the pillar, hill and straight to other end of BC are spawn points. Halp Pls :/

Iirc that doesn't work, fillmode doesn't work for me at least.

Fillmode doesn't work. For me, I changed the .dat for all Undergroud/Blue Antlions to Promathia, so now it's really easy to find where one of the Antlions is hidden; though telling where Tuch moved to for the second pop is impossible atm. Though once I record the locations of the antlions, the ones that don't move are obviously Hunters so it's easy to track Tuch for the 3rd and 4th pops.

Didn't they fix that? Every 25% HP off it goes down regardless.
I remember I went in solo once as blm/rdm around 4 months ago or so (my duo partner forgot to get the item after climbing the mountain >_>) and it went down every 25%, even if it was by DoT or nuke.

Pretty sure NIN+RDM can duo, not sure about THF+RDM, though.

I box a RDM and play my WAR, takes me ~11-12 minutes. I think you could do it with a lot of job combos if the RDM takes a more offensive role; I just use my RDM as a Haste / Slow II / Cure bot of sorts.

it's pretty easy to solo using apradar. nukes take 4-5% of its hp off, and mine land fairly easily with 259/269 skill (for aero/bliz respectively), though i do get a few resists. kiting it slows it down quite a bit, so +move speed isn't needed.

sch and blm could also most likely solo it without too much trouble. blm could probably take around 8~11% of its hp off per tier4 nuke (i think?), and maybe even take it down in 3 rounds, using AM2 before it uses sandspit? i'd think /nin might be a reasonable option for blm because of the faster cast time of utsu compared to stoneskin, and so there's no risk of getting nukes interrupted if it DAs (might need to crit at least one of those to break ss, i forget how much it does without -dmg% gear), or if it gets 2 attack rounds before you finish nuking (it most likely will, depending on where you nuke).

it's really pretty easy as long as you have decent nuke gear. i usually finish in 13~14 mins, with fastest one being a little over 12 mins, without using CS, and i usually only get to use vert once (i'd just go straight after tuchulcha after the first sandspit, and use vert after i finish mp, but by the time bind wears off i have too much mp to finish off before i vert, so it's usually not up until after, or just before i finish). i personally use rdm/blm, for the extra 130 mp, burn (helps me a fair bit with resists, as well as damage), and CMP, but if i were another race (i'm lolelf ;;­), or if i had more than one elemental merit (so i could use mahatma/ugly pendant instead of relic pants/torque) i'd probably stick to /nin, to save mp from ss/phalanx, as well as casting time, but in the end any sub should work fine.

You don't need fillmode/ApRadar or w/e for this. I've been doing this for about a year with the same person. It just takes experience. A few posts up there is a map with spots where he pops. That is absolutely all you need. Just document where he pops and make your own map. We go RDM and BLM. Yes the first month or so we had problems but even if you have 2 babies up you can hold them indefinitely until you kill off the Mama.

I've never done it with melee so I apologize but with two mages this is cake. Just need practice.

P.S. His post on the map is very accurate. Also, I will add about 80-85% of the runs I go on (yes I know it may just be me) the Mama pops in the upper section opposed to the bottom area where you fight Mithra Trackers. So I always make it a point to search the top first, then when I've hit all the spots, I go to the bottom area. Usually I solo the top as RDM while the BLM rests but if it's not up top, we both go down to the bottom to look since I don't have those pop spots memorized.

obviously you don't need it with a setup like that. a dd+rdm duo on the other hand isn't going to kill it nearly as fast as rdm+blm will, especially if it's not a strong dd, and the time spent looking for it may sometimes be enough to push you over. and soloing it would be completely impossible without apradar. the faster you can kill it, the less the time lost looking for it matters.

Could this be done with a PLD/WAR and BLU/anything? I keep seeing people say RDM + DD but do you think this could work?
