    Herder's Subligar

    With the new add-on giving the option for Pet Acc+7 I was wondering where Herder's Subligar stands. Some say it's a flat 10 acc and others say its around 5-10%. I only saw a few small tests that didn't really convince me one way or the other.

    I was in a merit party on my DRG fighting Greater Colibri and no one was gear swapping so I decided I could get away with full timing my Herder's Subligar. Since I parse nearly every merit party, I know my wyvern usually parses around 89% hit rate. The parse data I had collected before deciding to full time Herder's backed that up:

    Soleil: 307 Hits, 36 Misses, 89.50% Hit rate.

    Then I started full timing Herder's Subligar for around the same amount of swings and noticed a slight increase in Soleil's accuracy:

    Soleil: 308 Hits, 28 Misses, 91.67% Hit rate.

    Everything remained the same for this test. The party was DRG x5 RDM. I used empahy to give Soleil haste in order to speed things up. One or two members were using Thalassocrat. I was using Fay Lance.

    This test seems to rule out a 5-10% gain in accuracy. 89% hit rate can be achieved on Greater Colibri with 393 ACC. If the Accuracy Bonus was 5% then my wyvern should have been parsing at 95% hit rate. A bonus of +10 accuracy would have boosted my wyvern to 94% hit rate.

    Considering the actual results showed a 91.67% hit rate, it seems the Herder's Subligar only adds 4-5 accuracy (398 accuracy would be a 91.5% hit rate on Greater Colibri and 399 would be 92% hit rate).

    The party disbanded before I could do anymore testing, but I think after 1000 hits Soleil's hit rate would have evened out at 92%, suggesting a +5 accuracy gain with Herder's Subligar.

    I realize that I'm only taking into account the level 82 Greater Colibri, and ignoring the boost to hit rate over time created by Thalassocrat's evasion down effect. I'm not really sure how much this would skew the data, if at all.

    I decided to try this on DRG because of the wyvern's seemingly high natural accuracy. I figured if Herder's Subligar was a percentage then it would be obvious in this case.

    If I got the new add-on legs with pet accuracy, it would be for BST. I'm planning on testing Herder's out in The Boyahda Tree. My Korrigans usually parse around 93% hit rate (I use +2 pet acc on Erlking's Tabar, +15 pet acc on Mirke and +4 pet acc on an Angel's Ring in addition to Herder's Subligar).

    I was thinking of converting all the Korrigan's to EM and then doing a set with my normal set up listed above, and another set with my normal set up minus Herder's Subligar.

    If anyone has more parser data please post it, and comments on my data/suggestions for better ways to test are welcome.

    Thalassocrats being there makes your test null and void.

    407 and 398 are the accuracy caps for the two levels of Colibri. Assuming an even distribution of the two and a perfectly sampled hit rate, 89.5% Hit rate would be:
    .5*(95-[407-Acc]/2)+.5*(95-[398-Acc]/2) = 89.5
    22 = [407-Acc]+[398-Acc]
    22 = 805-2*Acc
    2*Acc= 783
    Acc = ~391.5

    For the second sample-
    .5*(95-[407-Acc]/2)+.5*(95-[398-Acc]/2) = 91.67%
    Acc = 395.84

    So according to your test, it's about Accuracy+5. The accuracy of this test is unknown unless you post how many times he hit though.

    Edit: Oh yeah, and what Shinryuu said

    Later down the page a poster makes the point that call beast familiars can spawn within a range of levels. The two crabs being compared could have spawned at different levels so the accuracy bonus can be anywhere in the range of 4-12 accuracy assuming the crabs can spawn at 23-25 at BST25 and I'm right in assuming they gain 4acc/level. Of course if you take the levels of the crabs into account you have to take the range of levels the target mobs spawn in as well. etc etc

    tldr; I think I'll test it for myself sometime before I beat ASA to decide what augments to throw on the pants.

    My first test was kind of a spur of the moment thing after hearing about the available augments for the new add-on.

    I got around to performing a much more controlled test in The Boyahda Tree facing off a Korrigan (Even Match) and a Steelshell (Tough / 130 exp) repeatedly.

    Here is the full data if you care to see each individual "round":

    Total: 902/1001 = 90.11%

    Difference: 1.91%

    Short version:

    With Herder's Subligar: 923/1003 = 92.02%
    Without Herder's Subligar: 902/1001 = 90.11%

    Difference in hit rate: 1.91%

    In addition to the Greater Colibri parse, this seems to support that Herder's Subligar adds 4-5 accuracy. Does 5 accuracy add 2.5% hit rate or 2-3% depending on the enemy evasion? I'm not sure. Anyway, I think it's safe to say that the new add-on pants are superior, but I'm still not sure if I want MC Hammer pants. Anyone have a picture of a mithra wearing them?

    As much as I appreciate people testing niche things like this, I have to ask if you considered the bonus from gaining exp that was added in a recent patch. It would increase wyvern accuracy and possibly skew your test, if you didn't cap it before beginning testing.

    Retard moment, was thinking he did controlled tests on both EM and T seperately to provide a better sample.

    I feel inclined to believe it is a % more than a straight up ACC+. Every test I see it gives different numbers even though most of these tests were at 75......

    Oh well, decent piece to level with I guess and sync down to. All that time to get it XD Least it can be decent on PUP when the master isn't fighting

    Hey, thanks Elesar! They don't look half bad actually. I was expecting far worse. Matches Mirke better than it did in my mind.
