Thread: Soothing Waters - Quest    

Has anyone found where the Colorful Hair for this drops yet? The previous Serpent general quests seemed pretty popular, but I haven't seen anyone say they completed this one yet.

If the previous quests are any indication the item itself has nothing to do with what drops it. I've killed a lot of Lesser Colibri and some Ameretats with no drops so far. Trying Marid now.

First instinct was marids, killed about four or five so far- no colorful hair yet

Anything yet? Still no luck with marids

I recapped BLM exp on Marids now and no drop. (edit: recapped = ~3.5k exp which was quite a few Marids. Maybe off Grand Marid? But it hasn't popped for me.)

I'm tempted to try the Red Kissers, but there's two BSTs here who might not appreciate that too much. There's lots of possible mobs that could drop it and the droprate was pretty random for groups farming the other two, so I'm not too sure what to keep killing.

I did Lesser Colibri/Ameretat as SMN/THF, switched to BLM/RDM for Marids (no luck), and I don't really want to switch again to try regular Colibri. Meh, I'll try Date Erucas now for a while.

edit #2: A party that was killing regular Colibri tells me that none dropped for them.

So only three mobs drop a kind of hair >_> (ignoring Siren's Hair)

Marids
Wamouras

I doubt Manticores would drop it since they are none in ToAU, and Marids don't seem to drop it (must have gotten 10k exp solo-ing these so far) so uh maybe wamouras? lol

I'M NOT JUST SAYING THIS CAUSE I STILL NEED TO LEARN EXUVIATION

some Taru SMN was killing Diremites in Aydeewa(sp?). Maybe those?

Wiki reports Colorful Hair from Diremites too

But how many spiders drop arrows and how many tigers drop medals?

I've killed enough Marids for tonight, so I'm going to try stuff nobody kills (bees in Bhaf) and then explore Aydeewa. There could be a new '???' in there that gives it. (Or pops that an NM that rapes me in a hilariously rapid manner. ) I've got the "trying to figure out the Goblin Drink" feeling all over again.

edit: Anybody have .dat mining of conversations in Aydeewa? That's where the CS is so it should give us some clue as to what the Colorful Hair is. I tried zoning in and got no CSes.
