Thread: Blue Dragon    

Anyone pick this up yet? I got mine Wednesday and I'm about 12hours or so in. It's pretty decent so far, nothing terrible nothing great but to me its a must play considering Hironobu Saskaguchi took part in it and it's gotten a good amount of hype since last December.

Not impressed at all. Already put the game down to work on WA5 instead.

It did get tons of 6-7.0's as reviews but I have to ignore them, sometime reviews are a little too picky, but youre pretty correct in saying it's nothing super special, just kinda there as another RPG.

Yeah, I'll beat it eventually... I really had high hopes those reviews were bogus... but, after playin the game for 2 hours I went huh... and my Xbox360 got disconnected and put away again.

Well atleast when you do break it out again you can look forward to lots of pretty nice CG cut scenes, theres been tons so far and that's for sure the reason is 3 DVDs.

I plan on picking it up, but from what I keep hearing there's basically no storyline.

Theres definitely lots of story to go with all the CG cutscenses it's just not an amazing story but still a pretty decent one. I got to the 2nd DVD about 14 hours in and the first CD ended with some nice cut scenes.

Got it sitting on my desk waiting for me to play it. Had to beat bio shock first since I rented it.

I just finished it last night, it was pretty dull most of the way through and it was very very easy to kill even the last bosses. I think i finished in a little over 35hours but I wont be going back to do any of the side quests, just not worth the time.

35 hours? that's it? it's fucking 3 DVDs...

The only reason its 3 DVDs is because 95% of the 500 cutscenes are all CGI and not game play (normal gfx).

Okay then let me ask you this 22... is the story interesting AT ALL? Because I keep hearing mixed reviews.

The story isn't that amazingly interesting by any means, it's pretty cliche "Nene" the antagonist wants to take over the world to get back at it for what it's done to him so Shu (the main character) and his friends want to stop him. It's a really linear story and you never get too far off the storyline (looking for Nene). The localization does more harm than good to the story and there's a lot of unnatural dialog like "I will not let that happen" instead of "I won't let that happen". Don't get me wrong the story isnt terrible its just doesn't have any "oohs" and "ahhhs".

So it's like Enchanted Arms... lol.

I only have 16 hours into the game personally and still on disc one... i like to farm exp >.>

Out of all the reviews i have to agree the story doesn't grasp me as much as other RPGs, but some of the things i see in battle are humorus. Such as the Poo Snake calling for help and nobody comes, lol, he looked so disappointed.

And I know it has no meaning whatsoever, but why is it i seem to be getting drops of gold from piles of poo >.>, after some Multi-encounters. If it were me there i would'nt touch that even if it did have gold in it.

Anywho, this game will be one of those games that once i finish the story i am done with it. Much like Bioshock, a Rent-Only kinda game
