That's what I've always assumed. So your normal swing gets an attack boost.

No clue if I'm right or wrong, that's just what I'm guessing.

I capped this on my treant because I didn't have room for Attack Bonus and just eyeing it, it didn't make a discernible difference. There's dat mining about adding slashing, blunt etc damage plates so it may not actually be in play yet, or it may only work on certain mobs which already have neutral melee attacks, but who knows what those are it's just my guess :\.

If i remember the wording on this plate right it goes something like "Increase damage from attacks not affiliated with any element".
Thinking about it in relation to the other plates in that set which say they increase damage from fire based attacks and the like, it sounds to me like it would only apply to special attacks, i.e. TP moves. I know that the plate doesnt specify it's just TP moves and it doesnt say that is isnt melee attacks, but I've never seen a melee attack that has an element, which makes me think they boost elemental TP moves.
