Thread: Serj Tankian - Elect The Dead (system of a down)    

I know there is some SOAD fans here from previous threads, so yeah. Has anyone checked out Serj's album yet? So far it seems really good. It's alot deeper sounding than what most of system does, I mean, they do alot of deep stuff but it seems he is really rolling with this. He uses a TON of different instruments in this album, which is probably why I like it so much since I also play a lot of instruments myself. And it also seems he is getting a lot of help from other people who know their shit, namely: Antonio Pontarelli (you guys should know this name... hes insane), Larry from primus, Byran brain from primus and gnr, Ani Maldjian who's an opera singer lol. Just a huge array of different talents and sounds.

I've seen a real lot of SOAD concerts from when they were nobody, walking among the crowd at shows they weren't in or doing only a few songs on hours before the main show. I have all of the bands autographs as well, and this "hiatus" that they call it has been killing me. All of their new solo stuff looks really interesting though, a real change from what they've been doing for the past decade. Serj's album so far isn't really as heavy as some of their mainstream stuff, but its still got that feel to it, but you can tell it's something different. I honestly can't wait to see them start performing again, they always put on a great show and it seems Serj is really enjoying this new album, so I'm sure hes going to have a lot of fun with it. Why isn't there a thread on this, it comes out this month!

Their other single is pretty good too. If a band wants to be political, and deep, then good for them. At least they have something real to write about, something they can relate to. I really get bored of pointless songs by bands with aweful lyrics they throw in just to rhyme, that don't make a shits worth of sense. Making tons of money off songs that are retarded. At least they have something real and worth writing a song about. Alot of their songs are funny though, and don't make much sense at all besides being about substances, but i'm happy they do more real songs with emotion and backing to them per-album than most others do per-career.
