Holy shit, lol. They showed a bit of the PS3 release in japan on the news, but mainly just people waiting patiently in line for theirs (while playing theri ds's, I laughed so hard at that, it was exactly like that VG cats) But holy christ
hey royze, mind elaborating on the "this is too good" part?this is too good, just way too good
do you mean that too good as in you didn't go and suffer like those who waited? or you're being sarcastic about Sony's limited amount of PS3?
Did you not read the link?Originally Posted by dekamii

egle thats exactly my point after i read the link, basically there is two things he could be happy or being sarcastic about....so im just questioning him on how he feels since he is there at Japan. then again you aren't royze
well nowadays there is always this hype on camping and selling newly launched stuff on eBay....the power of the internet!
Unless he's anti-Sony I don't think he's 'happy' about things going poorly.
It is true though that the same thing could happen with other systems just because of eBay and such, but I think the limited numbers are what caused this to really be big on that whole deal.
The main point of this post was for the +1 to my post count.
well im saying this is too good as a news of things that are happining and how amazing it is to see shit like this go down..
im no sony hater, matter of fact im getting one that i bought from the auction for 750$, now thinking if i should resell it for $2000 lol

Interesting read I feel sorry for the old people. But they shouldn't be blaming Sony for the problems with the crowd. IMO it should have been the stores selling the systems to get the blame for not having enough police/security present to keep the line safe and organized especially when something this big is released. Hopefully they will learn their lesson for when the Wii is released.
The Wii won't have around 80,000 models in total for Japan. It just seems dumber everytime I think about it.
I cant believe they released 80,000 units in one place and used it as like a festival/celebration for release... common fucking sense. What did they think was going to happen?
And yeah wii launch wont be like that in japan. All of my japanese friends dont even care about wii, it's all ps3ps3ps3p. They also aren't stupid enough to put 80,000 units in one fucking place lol.
Holy shit at hiring Chinese people to wait in line for you rofl.
believe it or not, i was having ideas of making someone stand in line and fight for you and get you your ps3 for a price... it never crossed my mind that it would happen for real..
Lol PS3, I hope Sony gets sued for having a product that incited riots and possibly death!
lol
I'd love to ask Kutaragi how he feels, Sony losing money for every PS3 sold and those people making profits off it.
"HAY SONY I MAKE PROFITS FROM YOUR LOSS LOL"
Way to go Sony.
actually sony is still getting money. Each console sold gives them money. They, Sony, doesnt care about what you do with it as long they get their console to sell.Originally Posted by Syn

When the cost of producing your system is greater than the cost it retails at, you lose money.Originally Posted by Nighty
I'd assume they want you to keep it, since the money right now is in the games, not the system.Originally Posted by Nighty
Seriously, how did you come up with that? It costs way more then 600$ (almost 1k) to make one PS3.Originally Posted by Xavier
FYI, only Nintendo doesn't sell consoles at a loss, M$ and Sony do, Xbox, 360, PSP, PS3 all sell at loss. K thanks.Originally Posted by Nighty
