just came to post this thread but noticed qalbert got it on the day the info was released.

could be good, i'm afraid they are putting this too close to the capria era since adama is said to be in his 20's and he's what in caprica like 12-13? 10 years after capria still hopefully has 3 or 4 years left is almost like giving up imo. i could be wrong.

Yeah I always assumed Caprica would transition into this story if it lasted long enough.. guess not.

yeah, they've done a bad job promoting it, airing it, and to a degree writing it, these new eps post-break haven't drawn people in at all.

Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome takes place in the 10th year of the first Cylon war. As the battle between humans and their creation, the sentient robotic Cylons, rages across the 12 colonial worlds, a young, talented fighter pilot, William Adama (Luke Pasqualino), finds himself assigned to one of the most powerful Battlestars in the Colonial fleet: the Galactica. Full of ambition and in pursuit of the intense action that the Cylon war promises, Adama quickly find himself at odds with Coker (Ben Cotton), the battle-weary officer to whom he reports. With 47 days left in his tour of duty, Coker desires an end to battle just as much as Adama craves the start of it. Though they clash at first, the two men forge an unlikely bond when a routine mission turns dangerous and becomes a pivotal one for the desperate fleet.

Joining Pasqualino and Cotton in the cast is Lili Bordan, who will play Dr. Beka Kelly, a Ph.D. who worked for Graystone Industries that created the Cylon robots. Currently assigned to a secret military mission, Beka and Adama quickly establish a rapport.

BSG: Blood and Chrome is totally not cancelled and it's releasing in episodic installments on Machinima Prime and it'll be coming to Blu-Ray/DVD in Feb. First episode is releasing on youtube Nov. 9th.

Arguably the best science fiction series in some time, Battlestar Galactica aired its last season almost three years ago with a few spinoffs since. The latest spinoff movie is the prequel Blood & Chrome which tell the story of young William Adama and his trials on the Galactica during the first Cylon war. The 97 minute feature film will be initially available online as 10 episodes via Machinima Prime between November 9th and February. Then it will premiere on the Syfy channel and finally become available on Blu-ray, DVD, On Demand and digital download on February 19th, 2013. We'll be interested to see how this unorthodox release window works out for Universal Studios Home Entertainment, in the meantime more details are available in the full release, along with a trailer after the break.

It's standalone but it does involve young Adama so it's worth checking out.

EDIT: Finished the finale, jesus tittyfucking christ why didn't they turn this into another tv series.
