Okay so lately I've been eating lots of Mcdonalds because of the monopoly thing and the 1/4 chance to win is just too good to pass up.

I'm all for free food and I've gotten tons of it in the past 2 weeks or so.

Going to Mcdonalds maybe 2-3 a week I've one probably 8 things, however today kinda pushed me to make this thread.

I got a large fry and peeled off double Park Place 1,000,000$ stamps at first I was like wtf omg RICH but sadly no.


I was wondering though, for those of you who know how to play (I don't quite) I'm assuming you need Park Place(770) and Boardwalk(771) since my 2 stamps say "Park Place 770 need 771" which leads me to assume if I get a 771 I win big bucks.

Though I'm not really interested because things like that don't happen but I was thinking about people who may be selling the 1,000,000$ stamps. To me it would be an awesome idea if you knew someone had an unused stamp you need to win big bucks why wouldn't you?

obviously, one of the 2 pieces you need to win a million dollars is going to be rather common while the other is astronomically rare. that way, people think they actually have a chance and buy more crap.

Park Place is most common game piece.

Besides Boardwalk, the rarest piece in a set is the one that comes alphabetically last. The chances in winning are so abysmal its sad. Even winning 100$ gift certificate is something crazy like 1 in 750,000. SO McDonalds is throwing out >2 million in prizes and gaining gazillions by selling food because of this event.

But yes, free food = more return visits. So the winner is McDonalds.

I wonder how many rare game pieces get thrown out every year. I've seen french fry and mcnugget boxes in the garbage before with the game pieces still intact. Maybe you can find a new hobby in dumpster diving during the promotion.

When I worked at Mc.D's, I would save all the pieces I've picked up from people leaving them behind on their garbage or their tables, or boxes we were going to throw away etc. There was always "that one" piece I was always missing in each color, that I never found. The way it works is to give 2/3rd of the colors out by millions, then save that last piece to be the ultra rare one that you will never get. You will always keep going back because you think you are "so close" at getting that final piece to complete your set, but I guarantee you will never ever see it. I asked my manager why, he was a big mc.donalds fan nerd and went to the burger university and all that stuff. He said that the pieces that I could never find are meant to be the grand prize ones, and they only make 5-8 of the larger prizes for each state (excluding the million dollar one, that one is like 2 for the whole country), so if you don't win blame that old lady that never peeled off hers and threw it in the garbage, it could have been the one you needed. lol You never know, because the cups and fry containers get damaged and thrown away a lot. The monopoly thing at Mc.donalds is a very very good ad campaign for mc.donalds, it's almost like "deep discount and oh, free food" lol. They make millions and monopoly month is usually their busiest month of the year. Like holiday.

So even if i was an employee and was disqualified to win anything, i collected over 100 pieces and had doubles of 2/3 of everything, even about 16 park places.
