Jim Cramer was the notable exception I remember. I would like to see Beck on The Daily Show, I don't think Stewart would hold back any ammunition for that guy either. Any other interviews where he just crushes them?

Jon Stewart on Crossfire was epic amazing, but that wasn't his show. It did lead to Crossfire getting canceled like 2 months later.

it's always fun to watch the crossfire vid cause that was basically the true sign that Stewart has power. (show got canceled because of him).

Those that attack the Obama interview (on other sites) don't realize where his focus is. It's always seemed to me that Stewart is after fixing the media. He's always given the impression that fixing the media can in turn fix the government (ie if people are getting the real truth then they won't put up with some of the stuff the gov't gets away with.)


Now if only Stewart could get around to just blowing fox news off the planet.

I've actually found the various degrees of responses to Obama's appearance more interesting than what he said. It ranges from "Obama should be focusing on his administration", "Stewart was too hard on Obama", "Stewart was too easy on Obama", and just about anything else someone could complain about.

This. I find it humorous the same people who will say shit like "He needs to be focusing on the presidency and not on the Daily Show" will in the same breath say "Of course he goes on that liberal show and not a hardball show on foxnews/etc"

I enjoyed the interview even though the whole thing didn't get taped...It stopped right as they were discussing the nuisance of the Republican obstruction from overusing the filibuster. Jon Stewart asked a lot of good questions, and Barack gave good responses as usual. I too don't agree with him saying that the Health Insurance Reform is the most accomplished piece of legislation in congressional history (it's too soon to say something like that), but I will agree with him that it is a huge overhaul, and it is 90% of what it could have been. They can always amend things into it like the Public Option or Single Payer System.

The bill basically laid the groundwork future improvements to the US Health Care system. He made a good comparison to the Civil Rights Act and the Social Security Act. At first those bills weren't all that great or notable, but they were still marked as landmark bills. Over the time period of decades both have made significant change to American Society. The Civil Rights Act didn't immediately end segregation and inequality, because if it did then a lot of headespalode would happen. Progress is a slow process, and change is something we can believe in but don't expect it over night"...Good that he realized that "Change we can believe in" was too broad of a slogan, and too bad "Change we can believe in, but don't expect it over night" isn't as catchy.

Some people just basically believed everything would be fixed in the period of 18 months. This dude has signed 200+ bills into law and out of that, 5-6 major legislations have been signed too. He's only vetoed two bills, the House has passed 400 bills, and the senate is holding up hundreds of them. If you ask me, the problem in America is the US Senate, they get paid millions more than they should because rather than listening to their constituents, they listen to lobbyists and special interest groups.
