this fuckin' thread lol
Thing is, I've stated before. She literally ISN'T BLUFFING, as she has tried before and I saved her life. It's not something I want on my conscience, I may have a restraining order on her now, but I am talking to her dad and sisters to get her help. If she seems to be clear and on a straight path in a couple months or longer, I can remove the RO, which I told her after she messaged me on FB via another account.
I'm in awe of reading the dumbest shit I will ever read in my life at the age of 29.
Car thing is just an analogy, but judging by my past experiences talking people out of suicide, the analogy is sound. Convincing someone they have something to live for is just helping them realize they didn't really want to die, a realization that 9 times out of 10 a person will have all by himself before going through with the act. The other 1/10 will actually do it regardless of what anyone says, I imagine. I've met many people who threatened suicide, and quite a few who almost went through with it - and at least two or three who did it but botched it and managed to live. Generally unstable, miserable people all around. Coming from a stable white family in the suburbs, I can't understand their pain, but neither can I understand an honest desire to kill oneself. I've contemplated suicide before myself..who hasn't at least once? but at no time was it serious enough that I started planning how to do it. People who really want to live will live, I figure, while people who really want to die will die.
I retract my previous statement as I was proved wrong in the very next post.
Personalities and self worth are determined and shaped by their surroundings. You were obviously lucky enough to grow up and be in such that made you believe your life is valuable...yet sadly there are those who did/do not have that.
Someone who does, or at least once, care(d) for them. :\
Your views, my views, they clash. What else is new? If people always agreed with each other we'd be living in utopia and the question of the morality of suicide would never even come up, much less exist.
Yeah except your views are fucking retarded. How old are you seriously?
25![]()
It's okay if you think my views are fucking retarded. I don't mind.
25. That's some sad shit. It's not that I think they are retarded, it's that I know for a fact that they are retarded. You compare suicide to buying a car, then defend the analogy. Have you even been to a funeral before in your wonderful suburban life? It's pretty sad that you'd be willing to turn your back on someone you once loved enough to let them fucking not exist anymore.... but as the sig says... I've already wasted too much energy trying to get through to someone with such little capacity for rational thoughts.
Personally I wouldn't let a stranger commit suicide. I would probably even try to talk my worst enemy out of trying to kill themselves... I'd let them buy a shitty car though.
Friends don't let friends drive lemons. http://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/nono.gif
Most would try to help a stranger or be the dominant to an enemy than an ex they once cared for but are now jaded and filled with hate towards. They let them in the closest but were hurt in the greatest possible way.
They would also still rather help them with a car purchase to solidify their own purchase or purchase plans, especially if they are into tech/cars.
i do not wish any of my exes would commit suicide
i simply wish their future boyfriends and husbands beat them and they live unfulfulling lives
kind of like buying a lemon
In my opinion claiming (or threatening to claim) rape falsely is just as despicable and disgusting as someone actually committing rape. Also, in my opinion, there is difference between someone saying they are considering killing themselves (cry for help) and someone threatening to kill themselves unless you do something for them. I would probably make more of an effort to personally help the first, but the second I would let the authorities handle and wash my hands of the situation.
