Accidents happen, but someone still needs to pay for the bills and the pain/suffering of the woman's family. Plus, might be wrong here but wouldn't the settlement just go through insurance anyway? It's more than likely that the child is on insurance from their parents.

And yes i agree parents should pay for funeral etc etc if the family doesnt have the money. Especially if it was ruled that the kid did it on purpose.

also, this is stupid. the lady was 87 she was going to die soon anyways and funeral costs would have to be paid anyway. hospital bills sure, but those would likely die with the grandmother if the family couldn't pay. hospitals reduce bills all the time or medicaid would cover it.

this familiy is just trying to exploit this old ladies death to get paid, it's disgusting.
