Most people will look the other way with a product like that, no matter what the price is or how good it actually sounds, so I was just reinforcing that I've used those phones and they're a quality product despite being one of those seemingly overpriced overmarketed crapfests.

there are soooo many qualities to consider before purchasing a pair of headphones, but since your budget restricts you to entry-level cans, I really recommend this pair:

rich sound typical of burned AKGs, nice longevity, will introduce you to the joys of semi-open design.

personally I use a portable amp with mine, but it's not needed.
