I got ~400 marks from a Rank-15, finally.
I also think amount of marks has increased. But I don't think frequency has increased. When I first logged on, I got 2 marks in a row. Since then I've been 0%. Also when I first started recording this data my rate was about 35% over about 50 leves. Since then my average has dropped to about 15%

All post patch. My luck hasn't been so great.
My luck has been completely horrible, and I've ton a ton of rank 5~10 leves. No marks from them so far. I did get a tiny 400-mark reward from a 15, but I'm sure that was established.
I love how DoL, DoW, and DoM all get marks out the ass, but DoH get shit. My R24 fisher has accumulated over 17K worth of marks already but my R29 alchemist has gotten maybe 8K.
I've had issues getting marks on even Fisher (until now that we got 3x the leves) but both my Alchemist and Cook have only received 3000~4000 marks each.
This thread has been one of my favorites (reading but unfortunately not adding to it) since it started.
Given the new updates and the addition of the R15 marks, is all the old data now obsolete and incorrect?
It seems like such a waste of your skills and time bruiser.... but perhaps a new compilation is in order? (if you do make a new one I will honestly try to add my new mark info)
double post.
the list is probably useless now because its harder to get quality now (bold sucks now) and with less PR you get more marks, or so it seems, but only way to really know is gather enough data.
Well with the nov changes.. they have... upped the chance for marks by a good amount, Instead of getting maybe 1000 marks per 3-4 days of leve's I get that amount across all my crafts per reset. This may not be too noticeable for people that only level/do leve's for 1-2 crafts, but its very much noticeable for 5-6 crafts doing lv 20+ leve's.
Also PR only determined bonus marks from a leve, if it was going to give marks, not the chance for marks. (like Lv25 leve was 500ish with 10-20PR, 800 range with 100 PR).
One of the main purposes of this experiment was exactly to figure that out. I don't see how you can reasonably just assert that with no data, or even with the data I have already collected.
That being said, I think I'm going to postpone this experiment for a while, while I figure out whether or not the old data can still be used post-patch, and also because the Excel spreadsheet is starting to become slow computationally, and I'm looking for an alternative solution more geared toward data mining and aggregation.
Is the consensus that only r15+ local leves offered marks? Maybe that's why I didn't see any as I was testing a bunch of r1 - r10 leves.
I've had no results at all from ranks 1~10 (mostly 5~10, as I think it's safe to assume rank-1s won't give marks)
I do think most of the data is obsolete and doesn't really have much value post patch. But one thing that can be stated for certain - at least pre-patch, the rank of the leve (20, 25, 30, etc) appears to have no effect on the chance of marks, only on the quantity. That alone probably didn't change with the patch, so as far as I'm concerned that's now known.
Unfortunately, I haven't really had the desire to play the past few days. Just busy with other stuff. If / when I do continue this, I'll probably start over from scratch. Also, I'll need something better than Excel because even with only 500 records (which is what I was up to with this experiment), it was experiencing noticeable slowdown when it was computing the charts. I need something that can potentially scale to thousands of entries with no problem.
Hasty Handed through few 15s BSM leves, just got 587 marks of one
My opinion is still that post patch, R15+ can grant marks. Your ratings does not determine if you receive marks or not, it is already decided the moment you accept the leve. Your ratings however may determine how much marks you get in that given ranks pre-determined range. The higher ranked the leve the more marks you get in general. (R15 = ~500 and R30 = ~900) Again this is just my opinion from personal leve data eyeballing and reading this thread.
I was hoping all this data that was collected can come to a more general conclusion, notice more of a general trend, but it seems the goal has been to determine exact values of every lv of rank. I think its getting over-analyzed to the point of confusion.
I don't understand why they don't just list the reward on the leve card of either gil or marks. They already list the reward item, why not list a baseline value of gil/marks and then give a bonus amount for the quality rating like the bonus gil in battle leves?
It's just the idea that a consistently random chance of awesome rewards will keep people doing an activity that normally yields poop rewards. There are enough different regional levequests with mark rewards being common enough within them that they could give you the decision to take mark rewards over gil when picking/choosing. However, there's not a whole lot of options for one Disciple of the Hand to pick from every 36hrs. Just do them and hope for the best. It's not like they usually take more than 5 minutes to sit down and synth 4 pinches of whatever... unless they need to be delivered to Camp Sogoddamnfaraway.
It's not the crafting, it's the annoying Anima management that goes along with a lot of the higher level ones :/ Even running a lot to conserve it and strategically setting favorites I'm gasping for Anima every few days. And somehow it still takes for fricking ever to get them done when I port to most of the camps.
