I remember building up an incredible amount of rage at the Samson thing alone...I've always hated the "here's your epic character, but HOLD ON WHILE WE FUCKING CUT HIM INTO TINY BITS AND LET THIS AUTISTIC KID REBUILD HIM, YOU CAN HAVE HIM BACK IN HIS NORMAL STATE 30 MINUTES BEFORE THE GAME ENDS"....yeah. fuck that.

I still fall asleep on Xenogears every time the Gazel Ministry scenes start. It's a miracle I ever beat it the first time.

Again, I did rage at the Samson stuff myself. Was that enough to make the game terrible? Hell no. You get other party members almost right after he gets cursed and can just swap him out, who gives a flying fuck after about 2 hours after it's happened.

Did you play beyond the beyond as an adult? I used the characters who looked the best, and Samson was clearly awesome looking.
