it worked for me somehow? i did it right before i left to go see ozzy so fml if it's wrong. at least it works now. the only thing that could have saved g4 in my eyes was giving nathan barnatt a show as keith apicary, but comedy central picked him up.

It's funny, it's been so long since they dropped the ZDTV name, I kept trying to remember what the fuck it was before TechTV til this thread. Stopped watching it not long after the TechTV change.

i miss their weekly lan parties. i got to play quake 3 with some of their staff. they always did DM on The Longest Yard and that was THE MAP for tourneyfags. had waaay too much fun with them. hell, techtv is the reason i'm a computer science major. leo laporte was so fucking awesome.

TechTV was the shit, but while some of you watched the show for Leo, others for the geek girls... I was in it for Patrick Norton. The guy was a BEAST when it came to those electronics man.

Yoshi too, was one of the few people that inspired me to get into custom modding/fabrication. I remember following one of his old school watercooling guides in 2000 or so. Good times, good cast of players.

You guys act like G4 is folding, which it isn't. It's being dropped from one provider for a stupid and selfish reason. G4 isn't going anywhere. The last five years G4 has seen viewership go up by 175% and it's still the best and only channel for gaming/tech news. I agree that G4 does not have the most original programming, but that isn't a reason to hate it. People at G4 work really hard everyday to bring new info/games/tech etc. to our audience and all you can do is moan about Leo Laporte. Yeah G4 took over Tech TV, get the fuck over it already, sheesh. I like Leo Laporte too, the two do not have to be mutually exclusive.

G4 doesn't have ANY of the programming that I liked on TechTV other than X-Play... of course I (and others) are going to dislike it. They took the channel we loved and dismantled it!

Actually the best videogame channels are on Youtube and Ustream and etc. Also webcasts(podcasts).

G4 is also hardly a videogame channel... in the same way Fox 5 isn't a sports channel.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out that the people @ G4 don't know what the fuck their audience (w/e is left) wants. Is it a gaming channel? Not really, tech shows? Please. I have no I idea why people would even watch this. Hell, Gamepro from waaaaaaaaaaaay back gives X-play a run for their money.

I do tech support at a DirecTV call center. Since the announcement about DTV dropping G4 I haven't received a single call about it, whereas when DTV was negotiating a deal with God TV, we got dozens of calls per day about it.

Only stuff I watch on G4 now is X-Play and Attack of the Show. They also had pretty awesome coverage of Comic Con and E3. The Sexpo shows are interesting, too bad they can't show nudity and such though.

G4 isn't a gaming centric channel anymore because they couldn't keep high enough viewership to support it when it was gaming only. The ironic thing is that Cheaters, Cops, insert garbage program etc is really what carries the network. They can't return to larger gaming content because those programs don't get the numbers to support it because people don't watch those particular shows, but people piss and whine when there's no gaming content.

tech tv was "the best and only one available" to a T. g4 took over it then tech tv was completely dematerialized. when The Screen Savers turned into Attack of the Show! that was g4's way of telling the techtv audience to go fuck themselves.

just because you worked for them doesnt mean they are worth anything.
