I wonder when they will add the big epic bosses that they said would be coming soon, that dragon could have potential![]()
I have a general minecraft question. How the FUCK do you lessen the amount of memory crashes. The game has lagged to the point where I have to restart it or straight up memory crashed 10 times in the past 20 mins. It's like I can't even move 40ish blocks without this shit happening and it is making the game unplayable for me. I'm just trying to find a place to set up a new base on a friend's pvp server and it's not even fun exploring anymore. Making me not want to play the game at all.
Have you updated flash lately?
Literally just this morning.
Do you have a 64bit OS? Did you install a 32 bit version of Java on a 64 bit operating system? Keep in mind I may not know what I'm talking about. But I'll certainly troubleshoot with you.
You don't need 64-bit binaries for java, just create a bat with that command in it. You can point it at the .jar in your app data .minecraft folder or the exe, either should work.
I /think/ that worked.
I had the same problem for a bit, downloaded a 64 bit version of java that fixed it.
I followed a guide online. Minecraft.exe is in a folder of my choosing and in a folder called bin under that (you can name it whatever) ... i.e. currently I have it in Desktop/Minecraft/Bin/Minecraft.exe. Next to the .exe is a launch.bat file with the following
This will not only put the AppData in Minecraft\data (which is technically good if u plan to keep multiple versions around and NOT have them write to the usual AppData folder), but the java command seems to handle the memory crashes.@echo off
Title Minecraft Launcher
set APPDATA=%CD%\data
start javaw.exe -XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC -XX:+CMSIncrementalMode -XXarallelGCThreads=5 -XX:+CMSIncrementalPacing -XX:+UseAdaptiveGCBoundary -XX:SurvivorRatio=16 -Xmn1M -Xmx2M -Xms2M -jar bin\minecraft.exe
Just to reiterate my file structure is
Desktop\Minecraft\ :: Shortcut to Launch.bat (kinda pointless, but I may move it later)
Desktop\Minecraft\bin :: Contains Minecraft.exe and Launch.bat
Desktop\Minecraft\data :: Contains .minecraft
Edit: This fixed my memory crashes with 32 bit java. I later got 64 bit so I could use the HD Texture Patcher. I have no idea if I even need the .bat anymore, but I'm keeping it. I crash never now.
notch is working on texturing it now

So it's going to be a gay dragon. That's... fun?

So we still have some griefing going on, someone popped all the beds in my place and dumped them in a chest and took a few things. -_-
