so I installed minecraft onto my sisters computer and it wont work. the .exe will launch and I can log in with my name, but as soon as I log in it gives the error "Bad Video card drivers. Minecraft was unable to start because it failed to find an accelerated OpenGL Mode."
I updated java and the drivers and nada.
anyone have any clues how to fix this other than setting the computer on fire?
I found this;

i discovered a way to play minecraft even with bad drivers.... write "java -Xmx800m -jar "C:\Documents and Settings\NAME\Desktop\Minecraft.jar" in cmd.... move the minecraft.exe to desktop and rename it minecraft.jar....it should work

but I can't seem to get that to work, most likely cause I suck at this kind of computer stuff.

what is her video card? I haven't even been able to get into the server for weeks just says connecting for ever.

NvidiaG6150 something or other. don't recall. it's an oldish computer, but I had it working just fine before. I had to reinstall windows on the pc and now it wont work. Changed it from xp to 7

Anyone have any idea why my game wont let me respawn on the server? It is driving me crazy that I cant play.

Edit: OMG it let me respawn. Finally!

I'm pretty sure she just needs to make a BG account, add her minecraft name to it, and within and hour it will be added to the minecraft list.

Yeah, that's what I ended up doing. Now to get her to activate her account.

You probably could have just changed your minecraft name on your account to hers so it would have updated in the hour or whatever it takes to do that. As far as I know you probably arent taken off the whitelist once you are on it. so... yeah. Probably would have been easier to do that instead.

Also, Jinn and Helm! Have you guys been building recently? I want to start building junk again but it is boring without you guys around. Shin is too busy with FFXI to play anymore. Boooooooooooooo.

I assumed a server restart was going to happen so we could have a 1.0 map so I've only been logging on here and there to see if anyones around.... nones ever around...
