change your render distance from max to one below that, fixed the problem.

its an issue with the renderer being a bit shit and notch being kinda bad at coding to fix it

I sure hope ragns isn't logging the usage of nasty things in the game so BG regulars won't get caught destroying shit!

x.x Latest grief wasn't done w/ nasty things though. It was simply allowing monsters to spawn in somewhere they shouldn't, and creepers doing the rest.

Does said logging have some form of a coordinate system behind it?

Are you guys duping on the server? Or are you guys going out to a cave and mining all the things you use. I kinda want to get back into the game but the duping kinda made it meh to me.

I'm pretty sure duping was fixed by server-side inventories, but the mine2 map has an artificially boosted amount of diamond (and other ores, besides lapis). Like, getting a couple stacks in a few minutes is no problem.

pretty sure thats only in the prime square, on the rest of the world, beyond the prime square, life is normal and does not include nearly as many diamonds

This... might be me? I certainly wasn't being malicious. More... overly curious and underly intelligent. I set off some TNT near start on mine1 and there's... less sand than there used to be. Hard to fix when start is immortal! I also dug under my fortress to make a cave to mess around in, and it looks like my explosion mania hit someone's tunnel a bit under me. I didn't know anyone was so far out! I wasn't too concerned since nobody really plays mine1 anymore, but if it was a big deal, I certainly apologize and will limit my use of high explosives to remote wilderness.

Most of the grief seems to be taking place on mine2 with TNT pressure plate traps and the like.

Looks like the Penny-Arcade guys have an interesting system for their minecraft server. They have a bunch of different ones, but from what I was able to gather they have a faction versus faction server. There's 4 factions you can choose from, and you can help build up that faction while protecting it from raids from other factions. Every now and then they have an area called the colosseum where they pick the best "fighter" from all 4 factions and have them duke it out 1v1 for materials from other factions.

I haven't been playing as much because there's no real endgame to minecraft, just build and build then pretty much nothing after that. If anyone else agrees maybe we can take mine1/hell down and start up a faction versus faction setup.
