    Using Minecraft 4kids right now. I switch between like 4 of them though.

    All my doggies are gone. I headed back to spawn with them and only 4 survived. Genuinely sad about it. =/

    It's on.

    Upgraded both servers to CanaryMod instead of hMod so all the /spawn, /home and /playerlist goodness are back.

    New stuff:
    • Timestamps are now displayed in the chat.
    • Typing /repair use 1 ore of the tool you're currently using to repair it at 100%.
    • I recoded some of DeathNotify to stop spamming messages again, poke me if you find bugs.

    Its just the default skin for the texture pack I'm using but I've never actually seen anyone while using it until today. When I saw the big shit eating grin and the giant bug eyes I couldn't stop laughing.


    Also, why isn't anyone ever on anymore?

    sorry if this has been asked before, but does anyone have a link to a mob grinder tutorial? I don't need one of those huge epic ones I've seen posted, just something that can give me a steady supply of bones/arrows/gunpowder and I have no idea where to begin. Thanks!

    Also trying to get enough roses is fucking lame. I've extended my dye supply by dying sheep so I get 1-3 colored wool per dye, but I really feel like flowers/mushrooms/pumpkins should eventually spread out and thus be farmable. Actually come to think of it... has anyone else noticed that squid seem to be nonexistant since this last update?

    ugh okay, mob spawners are a pain in the ass. I'm making a small one that I found on youtube, it's 25x25 so it's still a shitload of materials. Apparently you have to do stuff like make sure the entire surrounding area (including all caverns below the spawner) are lit up so mobs don't spawn there, seems like a lot of trouble

    also i think they messed up the way water works in this last mini update. Now when I take a bucket out of the ocean it creates a hole, unless it's taken from a pool that's only 1 deep

    Anyone else ever build a mob spawner have some tips?

    It never worked that way for me. The hole in the water would always fill up again immediately, with a current around where I scooped the water.

    Yeah, there shouldn't be an actual hole, just some fucked up water current. Essentially it should become a downward current since you pulled the source block out and the 4 surrounding source blocks pour over to it and down. If it makes a hole now, that's some major changes to water physics I would think.

    For the mob spawner, there really isn't anything else you can do. Make sure that the area the mobs are spawning in is more than 24 blocks away from you since monsters don't spawn within a sphere of that radius around your character. Mobs will spawn within 144 blocks away from you so if you wanted it to be really productive you would have to light up everything within that radius. The more people that are on the server at a time, the less they will spawn.

    What you can do is build your spawner up at the very top of the map in the sky to get it as far away from caves as possible, but it might look really absurd.


    Edit: Apparently this feature in this video has a very high probability of being added in the next one or two big updates.

    Interesting. Those pistons are crazy. The self building bridge has incredible applications. I look forward to seeing what other devices people come up with in the future.

    Like, set up the beginning but no end, and let it keep building forever. Then, one day, finally leave home chunk and see how far it goes, past territory you haven't been in for a while, into territory that hasn't even been generated yet.
