Vanilla Minecraft is up on both servers till mods get fixed again.
Thanks sir.
I haven't even seen any damn weather yet.
I want to see a "charged" creeper. :3
a charged creeper O.o?!
I guess if they get struck by lightning, they become charged and their explosion is even more destructive...

:O
time for science!!!
Wow, apparently the damage dealt by a charged creeper is almost double... I'm not sure about the blast radius/resulting crater though.
So I just finished my first ever automatic cactus farm, which is pretty neat even though cactus is kinda useless (although I have been on a green-wool-for-library-areas type kick lately). Does anyone have any ideas for more stuff to build? So far I have:
-Numerous houses/treehouses/observation posts
-Nether bunker and covered walkways
-Mob spawner
-Cobblestone factory
-Reed farm (been thinking about tearing it down and making a water-harvest one but eh)
-Wheat farm
-Cactus farm
-Dog Kennel
That's really about it, I've been thinking about making a huge lava globe as a lighthouse but that just seems like it's more trouble than it's worth. Any more ideas? I guess I could use a gallery too, but I already have tons of paintings all over my house. I wish I could trap squid so I could have an aquarium...
He definitely tweaked with the terrain generator this last update... Iron is way more common at higher elevations and in larger veins. Coal is even more abundant than before. Also, caves appear to be more common, scattered, connected, and exposed on the surface. I'm rarely seeing a natural cave that doesn't connect to another and go deeper where I usually would be lucky to not be in a cave that just terminates in a dead-end. I'm seeing a lot more exposed caves that just go straight through large mountains without being filled with gravel above sea level or holes that drop from sea-level straight down a good 30 blocks.
I'm betting Iron was made more common for the "On A Rail" achievement...
Jinn is it really always raining at your place? I havent seen any weather at all yet.

That the tron texture pack? i think my brother used it for a bit.
Edit: No, No its not.
Notch is now working on a (presumably craftable) map item. It's probably going to look like old Warcraft maps, with the Fog of War and all.
Yippee~ I like official stuff, I feel like using mods is essentially cheating to some degree...
I totally agree. Besides texture packs I never use mods at all, just xray sometimes to find ore if I'm in a hurry. There's so much I'd love to see in the game and mods seem to add some of that, but there's something to be said about using the game the way it's originally designed and working within those guidelines to build/solve/whatever.
A map sounds fucking awesome, I always get soooo lost because I never bring compasses with me. I know I should start writing down my bases X Y coordinates but meh
I'm honestly not even interested in texture packs because the good ones need the 64bit patch thing, and I don't especially want to do that at all, never you mind every single time I want to change a texture. It invalidates the quick-switch texture feature, and really needs to be fixed in-client.
