jesus that is a lot of stuff lol

There are unlimited ores underneath the spawn area, apparently as a side effect from the creation of the floating islands from what I understand. It's nice because you still have to work for your stuff, but I don't have to spend half of a lifetime looking for diamonds and redstone. Psion has a pretty slick railway system heading north and south so travel is fairly easy, and you shouldn't have to walk more than 5-10 minutes to find an area that is open and unclaimed. In all honesty I enjoy the game 10x more on the server than I did going at it solo for as long as I did. Sacking my singleplayer work didn't appeal to me until I actually got on and ran around some, and now I'm way more addicted haha.
I'm still building the walls around my area so hold off near me for a bit until the walls are le done lol
so uh... where the hell do I go from the spawn? is there a way to see which way is north and whatnot? And how do I get to the main city/settlement areas?
I am so lost and overwhelmed by MP lol
Typing /compass will tell you what direction you are facing (/help and /help 2 will display more commands; although the list is missing /repair)
why is the terrain all jacked up? I tried traveling away from the spawn in a few different directions but there's these huge cliffs all over. I just want a nice flat space to build![]()
That's something ragns did, but the map is flat except for that square area around the spawn. Just keep walking and you'll get to flat areas, although it may be a while to get to unclaimed land.
eh Im gonna have to just try this again later, I just wasted pretty much the whole morning trying to find a spot to build
I don't mean to sound ungrateful, but the whole spawn area is a complete mess and a bitch to navigate. Is there an area with lots of people's buildings all linked together? I'd really like to build something alongside other people's settlements, otherwise it feels like I'm just playing single player off in my own corner of a multiplayer world.
You'll want to go at least something like 1500-2000 blocks away from spawn in some direction so you have enough room to build because some of us have very extensive underground mines that are bigger than some shit on the map. There is a spot to jump off of at spawn with a rose on it. I think it's just to your left as you spawn. There is a railway system entrance straight ahead from where you land that can take in a few different directions from spawn that will probably get you at least halfway to where you want to go.
We also have /sethome /home and /repair commands on this server.
really just use the tetonicus map to find giant gaps usually a lot of people do not use the gaps but some do.
Yeah, just jump at the platform at spawn, and in front of you is an entrance to an underground station I made called Junction. Follow the tunnel and you should reach a big room, it has 1 and a half railways in there that you can take, and also you can make your own that connects to it if you want. Go up the stairs from that room and take the left entrance and you'll reach the old railways someone else made before, that lead north and south. North way still uses the old booster system and isn't upgraded, but I've fully upgraded south line, though it's not fancy with minecart dispensers or anything. <_<; You can reach my Crossroads station by taking south line though, which has a cobblestone farm and tree farm anyone can use (just replace saplings you dig up of course), and going further south will take you to the giant palace groundchan made.
hmm, looks like it's completely open right where the southbound tracks first come up above ground, so I guess I'll build something there. I already established a hut/branch mine up to the north so I guess ill just move all my shit down there lol
southbound as in heading to my place right lol yea your fine BUILD AND EXPAND! colonize the wall!
Notch just added hatches/trapdoors. Sweet. They behave just like any other door although probably just 1x1 block in size and they still do not let water pass (sucks).
Hatches seem like a pretty sweet idea, although I am not exactly sure how useful they are outside of making entrances to underwater bases.
Also I have made tons of progress on my new house on the server. Like I said it's right where the tracks first come up above ground as you go south, pretty close to the big cliff surrounding the spawn area. It's nothing special, basically just a big boxy warehouse but it's pretty cozy inside. I guess I'll probably just start adding new floors to it to make it a little more interesting later.
I'm gonna leave my original hut standing too, it's right next to the railroad tracks so people can use it to rest/spend the night if they're on foot (plus it holds the entrance to my branch mine)
Anyone know someplace to find red flowers or are they pretty rare on the server? Or someplace close to spawn that has spruce trees so I can get some saplings?
I assumed that it was because of how the 'door' works, if it were to change (so water could pass through it) then it'll have to be changed for sign/ladders etc because I think they stop it fo the same reason. Which is that water cannot pass through because that 'block' is taken up by the sign/ladder/hatch. Pistons avoid this because when retracted they leave an empty block, rather than just open into it like a door does, so you can still use them to make floodgates/traps.
I would imagine he would have to add a variable to all blocks and make it 0 for solid, and 1 for allows water to pass through it and then make every water block constantly check for that variable as doors could have it change when they open and whatnot.
I would really prefer that he do something like this, signs, ladders, and whatnot blocking water just makes zero sense.
No one goes to the other topic much anymore... so I will put this here. HOLY SHIT I WANT TO GO HERE:
freaking sweet there downloaded the mcedit schematic
