Ok, I cave. Is there an easy to-do list for getting high-rez texture packs to work? I wouldn't mind something more detailed, but kept the look of Minecraft's default tileset, or the painterly pack.
Do one of these!
While mine aren't nearly as high res as the ones mioko just posted (there are amazing, btw), mine was pretty easy to install. I went to doku's thread on the minecraft forums and it was very easy. This is the texture pack I use, DokuCraft
http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/...00k-downloads/
You just download the pack, place it in the "texturepack" folder in the minecraft folder (it should already be there), download
MCPatcher HD (link is in his thread), patch it using the patcher, and you should be good to go. There are better directions in that thread that I linked.
Just browse the Texture Pack section of the forum to find one that you like. Most of them will have directions for installing.
why can't i login to BG server? keeps saying connection lost, end of stream.
I`ve gotten this error ever since 1.6 came out. Am disappoint.

If people are bored they can kill time on my server. I've been wondering how many my people my connection is able to support.

Is it just me or is there no noticeable difference between an iron and diamond shovel? I have both out right now and I can't eyeball the difference in speed while digging dirt.
According this this page there is a 0.05 second difference between diamond and iron on dirt and sand (and 0 on some blocks). I prefer diamond anyway because it lasts 6 times as long and annoyingly /repair doesn't work with shovels.
I logged in and died....
for no reason...lol.
Disabling the nether to see if it'll make the server more stable.
Temporarily wiped people's inventory since according to Minecraft forum it could cause the server to crash.
So far the server didn't last more than 1 hour before crashing.
I decompiled Minecraft server code to find that it seems to be about a player not having any position under certain conditions bringing the whole server down.
I've been running my server and it hasn't crashed yet. Would it be possible to just reset everyone's positions? Maybe starting fresh would fix it.
